I have a truck canopy / rooftop tent, and everything is nicely accessible. I think it was around $35 so it's a great stopping point to shower and freahen up before continuing on. I arrived after new years weekend and walked in to check the available sites that I wanted. Lots of short hike trails and walking distance to the ocean.
Rolled in at night….got my pick of camp sites. Not too cold, but awesome morning view
Easy site to get to..rolled in at night. Back, overlooking the river gorge, which offers great morning view and the winds blow from the sides so I was able to open up the rear of my rtt. Continue past the sign if you have high clearance… lots more beautiful sites
I wanted a place to stay on the way to Vail. Rolled in at night in my truck, easy to access. I was the only one camping during late December. Also did a snow hike up the road. A few snow mobiles come up this road, not much other traffic
Several firepits, leveled big area. You can continue on this dirt road to get farther from the freeway to get a quieter sleep. I dropped in very late, so I didn't want to go further exploring in the dark, but I saw campers drive further out.
