Bad roads, high tension wires crackled with electricity, and a lot of traffic on the main road.
My camper is 32' long. There is a small turnaround on the left fork. The dirt is "moon dust" and got stuck. See photos and video. Turn right there is a paved turn around area. TMobile is good for phone calls, internet was not good.
This is a safe spot for overnight. Nice views of mountains. There is highway noise. Camper trailers can manueuver without difficulty. TMobile works here.
This is a very quiet location. We saw over 20 wild horses. The wind and heat can be pretty intense at times. Beautiful sunsets.
Very impressed with this beautiful location. The site is right on the Mississippi River!
There are 13 sites for RVs and Travel Trailers. Three sites are curved to pull in and out easily. Site 13 is large enough for 2 RVs. There is a large boat ramp. The area is freshly paved and undergoing reforestation. However, there are a lot of trees. No water, no electrical hookups, and no bathrooms. There is 1 small trash bin. Mosquitoes are prevalent.
Camping at East Flats was great in mid-June. There are a number of campers, but remote locations are easily found. If you bring pets, be aware they may upset Rattlesnakes.
You have to drive up a winding road up 5000ft thennnn you have to drive up on cliff side and down hills to get to the area but wait it's closed
This is on the same river as the Rome Launch site.Saw a couple spots that could be campsites but it was way crowded with all the boaters parking everywhere I think there might be other campsites further down the river but I can't seem to figure out how to them.
Would be perfect if sites were further apart. Neighbors complained during the day because our dogs barked a bit. They weren't loud and it wasn't for long. Either than that right next to dunes and very pretty
Only stayed one night. The whole place was booked mainly tween boyscouts and they were obnoxious but did settle at quite hours. We got up stupid early to leave before they woke up.
We stayed at the Sand Beach Campground. It was hard to find since it's not past the main enternace it is further along 84 past the equestrian campsite and behind the rv park. But we were right on the water which was awesome. But then the winds increased from 16mph to 27 to 40 in a day and didn't die down the rest of our stay.
We stayed here for 5 nights and it was beautiful with only a couple people. The inner loop sites have electricity the outter ones dont
Nice spot to camp but unfortunately the tours of the caves get sold out so fast
Got there in April and basically no one was there which was awesome. Although we did lose our long haired cat named Trouble, she has her collar and chip but there were dogs around and she never came back. Attached is a picture. Other than the weather and losing Trouble it was great.
We needed to stop on our trip across country. We weren't going to get there before close so we called a head and they picked a spot for us..i suggest getting getting then choosing your own spot since thete is a kids playground right next to the camp ground
