Friendly staff, clean and spread out. Bought water and firewood from hosts. Onsite rental of ATVs and such for tours, mountainous sands at arms reach. Walked the 1/8 mile to the viewing area at sunset, great vantage point. Not sure if it was an international dark spot but certainly dark enough, saw a comet with no assistance! Random and strong wind storm blew in at 3 AM, put all things away at night due to strong gusts.
Wonderful service, clean and well spaced. Multiple shower houses, great pool and small shop with snacks, souvenirs and camping/RV essentials. Saw bugs, lizards, bunnies and a quick rain storm that resulted in a double rainbow covering the campground from end to end 🤩
Beautiful campsite, well maintained. Quiet and dark, bring head lamps. Great hiking from campsight. Everything was clean and well kept up.
First time traveling in an RV with my family, very familiar with Santa Fe area but visited in August of 2019 (Market/busy season). All the other RV parks were full and with our comfort in the city we thought staying on the outskirts would be fine. The owners/attendants were kind but not organized and a little rough around the edges. There was a game room but it was locked up, the bathrooms were ok. Now to the guns…. I believe there are several full time residents on the property, that were also a bit rough, firing into the open field next to the property. We immediately informed the Park host and he said that was not uncommon and he would look into in. It happened 2 out of 3 nights there, safe to say we will not return nor recommend.
Stayed one night, would have loved to stay more. The campsite is nestled in the bottom of the canyon in a picturesque Fruit Orchard. Water and toilets only, strict generator hours. International Dark Sky, amphitheater with multiple talks about the area daily. Runs along the River, dear everywhere enjoying the fruit. Was a favorite by kids and parents 🌲🥰
Called day of and was able to reserve a 30AMP spot with full hook ups $39. As other reviews mentioned it is exceptionally clean, there is pride in ownership and America with a life size carved memorial to the armed services. Great play area for kids, giant chess and a pool (closed due to Covid). They were selling homemade pie and pulled pork sandwiches at check in also which was a fun surprise. A few cute log cabins to rent also. All gravel and not a lot of trees, no view but a clean and safe overnight for sure!
Great location at the junction of the Colorado River and the Gulf of Mexico. Clean and spacious lots, not over crowded. Nature center with interactive exhibits, gift shop, snacks, mini golf and 5 minute walk to beach. Great sunset viewing.
