Dreher Island did not disappoint. Our site was fairly level once we got passed the tree roots under the asphalt. Power was stable and water had fairly good pressure. Our site had fantastic views of the sunset and sunrise. Mid day though the wind would kick up. Very interesting. The showers had hot water and were fairly clean. We would definitely stay again.
Bill Frederick was a surprise. The campground is small but with 10 FHU sites and 25 electric/water site within 15 miles of Disney for only $25 a night…It’s well worth it. Stayed in Site 4 which was close to the comfort station, which by the way was clean and had great shower pressure. Electricity was stable. Water pressure at the site was a little low but ok. I would definitely stay here.
We could only get one night but it was still a treat to stay. The sites are separated giving your privacy from your neighbor. Power was stable and water had sufficient pressure. The tree covered site may pose a tad of a challenge for those using only solar but it’s worth it. The comfort station was very clean.
The campground is very clean. Our site wasn’t the greatest (#811) as it was narrow and outside our RV door was a steep drop off making it impossible to use our awning for a seating area. We had 3 days of rain which did add to the issues…the area was muddy so keep that in mind. Power was stable. No water at the site but there are spigots around the loops. The bathrooms are older in this loop but adequate. Cell coverage was great in the morning but by 3pm each day it was saturated somehow.
The park itself is beautiful. Plenty of hiking. I only wish they had a bike lane along the main road. Will definitely go back.
Had a great stay at Van Pugh South in site 35. The site was located on the lake with gorgeous views. The pad itself was mostly concrete and had a slight tilt towards the waters edge but nothing too bad that couldn’t be fixed with a minor adjustment. We chose not to bother.
The camp sites are located along small islands jutting out into Lake Lanier. Plenty of shade, picnic table, fire ring. The pad itself is elevated above the waters edge. The site had water and 30amp electric but no sewer. The views of the sunset were spectacular. Fairly private sites.
The campground had a nice shower house and coin laundry. All in all the campground was spotless. I would definitely come back and stay several days. I only wish their season was longer.
I wish we could have stayed longer. We had Site 21, not one that has direct access to the lake but it was still great. The site was fairly large and private with all the natural trees and shrubs. The site was level and had some shade. It also had a fire ring and picnic table as well as FHU.
We loved the area. Grayton Beach State Park is a great hub location to go explore the small beach towns along 30A. Perfect for biking. The beach is about a half mile walk but so beautiful. Highly recommend coming here. I wish it was easier to get reservations.
Stayed here 2 nights in a pull through site (#5) and we were happy. The site didn’t have much shade but we used our awning and it was fine. The sites are fairly large. All have picnic table. Our site had water and 30amp electric but Loop 2 has full hookups.
The park has miniature golf, volley ball and hiking trails. Also there is a big lake if you have a boat. All in all it was a nice stay.
Really enjoyed this park especially since it is so close to Washington DC. The sites were fairly level and shaded with a fire ring and picnic table. Verizon cell coverage was good. The comfort house with showers and flush toilets was clean. My only minor complaint would be during the weekend there are a lot of children making noise at the water park. It wasn’t bad but if you want peace and quiet, keep that in mind.
