A few nights

We stayed here while going to Universal. It was grassy. No security. We kept tripping the 30A breaker with AC on and a hot plate or microwave. But in the end price seemed reasonable for what it was. They did have a note saying electric lines were being improved and power may intermittently go out.

Extended Weekend stay

Campground is big and surrounded by water. All gravel sites, very few trees. We were in the infield sites. Lots of RVs there for a long term stay, but people seem to go home during the week. Lots of fishermen. Seems too expensive to me. Laundry facility worked well, but way over at the marina.

Overnight

We stopped here on our way further south for one night. We got in late, but map was out for us. Sites are close, but as expected being in the city. We had a pull through.

Overnight

Overnight stop on our trip south. We got in early enough that we were able to get a game of bowling in before they closed. The pizza was good too. We had a nice pull through.

Overnight

Stopped for the night on the way through. Nice gravel pull through. Clean and well kept campground.

Good family place

We went for the Halloween weekend. We had fun. The wooded sites were wonderful. Sites were stone and not muddy (it did rain). There were a lot of play grounds as well.

Peaceful place

Our friends have a seasonal here and we came for a long weekend. Nice and peaceful place. Cement parking. About 10’ of grass between spots. We stayed in an area that had mature trees for shade, but the new area is open. Pool was nice. Not too far from the beach and state park. Clean and well maintained. Definitely will stay again.

Great place to stay

Nice campground with good tree cover. Workers are nice. We used for jumping off for Blackhills, Mount Rushmore, and the mammoth site.

Ok campground

Close campsites. We only stayed one night going to the National park. Very small town, only one gas station that is also the small grocery store. Fun putt putt golf in town.

Awesome

Great place to spend the night. Only a few campsites. Workers are great. Dirt road going to it.

Only “issue” is the Grey water dump is on a slight hill, with the ground washed away, and people sometimes park around it.

Quick overnight

Just stopped by on the way through. Decent room between campsites.

Great campground on the Beach!

Full hookups with level concrete pads. Enough space between for a picnic table. Best part is the Galveston beach right down the wooden, ramped, walkway. This small section of the beach is no vehicles and has a lifeguard. The campground is a bit from town, so you do need to drive to get to places. Other thing to consider. We had a constant 15mph wind, so awnings were flapping, and your car and camper get covered in a salty residue. We would go back.

Ok campground

Our site was rather low, as we asked for a lake site. Since it just rained, there was a lot of standing water around. But, overall campground had a nice boat launch and beach parking. Our site was level gravel. Ladies at the front desk were nice.

Diamond in the rough

The lady at the front desk was nice. She told us where to go to see the garden district and the French Quarter. They only took a few minute drive to get there. This campground is in a neighborhood. Seems odd, but it works. They have night security. With the AC on, it was pleasant. Our site was a level concrete pad. We would stay again if we ever head back.

Quick stopover

We stopped here one night on the way through. They had some barnyard animals in the back and a trail down to the lake. No stores or gas nearby, so don’t assume you can fill up at the exit. They had some nicer patio sites. Our site was gravel to park with grass around it.

Good campground

It was a nice campground with tree cover over most of it. Our site was gravel to park on with grass around it. Close to train tracks and highway, but didn’t notice with AC on in the camper. Close to 6 flags.

Good stopover

We stopped here for one night on the way through on a week night for Covid Camping. We got in late and our site was hung on the wall - we had reservations. They gave us an easy in and out site that was level. Nice nature trail and fishing pond. Pretty empty when we were here. The patio sites looked nice. We might come back sometime. Tent sites look good too, some have a sandy area to pitch your tent and a shelter with a table.

Good fall destination

We stayed here in the fall for a color tour. Nice and quiet then, only half the park was open. We ran out of propane and plenty of places in the area to get filled.

Nice place

We stayed here 2 nights. Wanted to see the sights like Green Mountain Coffee, Ben and Jerry’s and Trapp Family Lodge. Nice quite place. We had a pull through, and nice green grass sights.

Good campground

Stayed here visiting Cape Cod and Boston.
