We drove out of our way to stay here because the reviews led me to believe it was a hidden gem. While it gets high marks for ease of use, ease of check in and is definitely quiet…it is quite run down. The bathrooms are adequate, in that there is hot water and working toilets, but they are run down. The whole place felt like an ancient summer camp in need of some fundraising for repairs and a cosmetic facelift. The grounds are pretty if you can look past the buildings.
Absolutely wonderful campground I grew up going to. But Hurricane Michael ravaged it and it is not open for camping, day use only. The ranger took our money and we went through, but could only get about a half mile into the park before it is closed off. Just something to be aware of.
