This is a great place to camp if you can get a spot. Plan on showing up before the sun rises to get in line.
We stayed here while backpacking king's peak. It's the best camping spot to do so. It's a beautiful area and you have access to shade and water.
There are some pretty good spots with shade for dispersed camping up green canyon
Depending on the time of year, this place can be infested with bugs and flies. So plan accordingly. That being said, it is pretty awesome to see Buffalo.
This is a large area in the west desert available for disperse camping. No services and no water, and not particularly scenic. It's fun to ride ATVs and go shooting. There is no shade so be prepared.
There are plenty of areas to do dispersed camping up diamond fork. With a bonus of being able to hike to some of the better hot springs close to salt lake.
This is our go to camping spot when we want to get outside, but not drive too far from the city. You can still feel secluded, even though it fills up quickly on the weekends. Beware, you will be awakened by atvs fairly early.
Be prepared, there is no easy way up lone peak to any suitable camping. It's a lot of elevation, with little shade until you get to the top. And no promise of water. If you do it, you are rewarded with amazing views and a secluded experience. I've camped at the outlaw cabin before and it was hard but serene.
Make sure to get here early on summer weekends because this place fills up. If you manage to get a spot in a beautiful area next to a river.
We just passed through here while hiking, but it was absolutely beautiful. There was a nice pavilion and fire pit.
We just stayed here one night, But they were beautiful wooded campgrounds right next to the lake. We were there during a weekday and there was only one other camper at the campground so it felt very secluded.
We stayed here one night and liked it for all the trees and shade, and yet still being pretty close to the city and lake.
I stayed here for a night while visiting Yellowstone. It had a table for me to use, and I took a swim in the river. Be careful, as bears are common in the area.
We liked staying here as a family. Beware of mosquitos as it's near the lake.
Beautiful area where you can set up camp next to the flowing river. No Services except 1 pit toilet.
Fun campground with plenty of spaces near Moon Lake. There are toilets, drinking water, fire pits, and even a lodge where you can buy supplies or rent a boat for the lake.
