Honeymoon July 1999

We chose to go camping here for our honeymoon. The campground offered a lot of hiking trails and swimming. Our campsite wasn't very well maintained as it had a lot of rocks throughout and didn't make for comfortable sleeping. The fire ring to use for the evening to sit at wasn't well kept and we were afraid a fire wouldn't stay well in the ring. We didn't use the amenities that were offered as we mainly used the campground as a place to rest our heads and breakfast as we were doing a lot of touring of Gettysburg.

Camping with Friends July 17, 2015

The campground offers electric and non-electric. We were camping next to friends and the electrical area didn't offer much in the way of privacy between neighbors.

There are regular and handicapped showers. Also a small playground for the kiddos. There is a beach within walking distance if you like to hike or drive by car. The beach wasn't kept up on cleanliness as it was covered in spots with geese droppings. The campground also has some hiking trails and fishing.

The camp hosts are very nice and allowed us to pick another camp site spot due to severe rain storms that hit a few days before.

Our Favorite Camping Spot

We have been coming to Oak Point since 2006. The campsites and showers/bathrooms are always kept clean and maintained. One centralized in the non-electric is dated, but still kept clean and well maintained. The hosts are very nice, courteous, and helpful.

There are plenty of hiking trails with some coming up along the lake which makes for nice fishing spots. A playground located in the electric area for the kiddos to play in and around.

A short jont down the road you have a boat loading area to go out on the lake, a public picnic area, and a beach where you can swim (for a small fee) or rent paddle boats.
