Great state park but campground does have a few downfalls. The best spots are tent only, and most of the “big rig” spots don’t have any privacy. We also had a really hard time finding a spot that we would plug in because the boxes were so far away, even though we have a 20ft extension cord. Aside from difficulty with a spot, it was a great stay. Not a lot of people there, beautiful views, greats waterfalls all around, clean bathrooms.
Stopped on our way up to Houghton but would definitely go back for an extended stay. Super spaced out and deep sites, beautiful late, clean bathrooms.
Stopped on our way from CO to MI, great little place that usually has no one there. Easy water and electric hookups with different options for 20, 30, and 50. Optional free or donation recommended with TONS of stuff right there! Playground, pool, campfire.
Called on Friday to ask about availability on Saturday. They said they would likely have a spot but to call in the morning on our way. Called at about 2 PM and they got us in, thankfully because it was full by the time we arrived. Decent showers, lots to do around there. Easy hookups. Very cheap for the area!
Definitely not ideal, but has lots of stuff if that’s what you’re looking for. Full hookups, store, gas station. However, the spots are not great. We were sandwiched between two cabins. The showers are paid, and the mens is frequently locked. Also overpriced, but most in the area are.
Rolled in without a reservation at about 7 PM on a Tuesday and there were a few spots to choose from. Such an accommodating host, nice private sites, beautifully maintained. It notes there is a sewage station, however, there is not. We used one about 15 minutes away in Tincup, $8 fee.
Had a quick stop on our way out to Colorado. Easy to find, easy reservations. Made online about 9 PM and pulled in around 10 PM. Great, cheap stop overlooking the water.
