Went hammock camping with some friends. Tents are most likely needed if you cannot find trees. Amazing views during the day and at night. Can do some rock climbing as well. I would recommend a vehicle with AWD and/or 4wd.
Originally it was very hard to first locate the site, I believe it is on google maps since we went last, the welcome center will also give you coordinates to get there. The turn off is only labeled in one direction so keep an eye on both sides of the signs. The campsites are semi close together. Very sandy area. There is a little river area within the site which is fun. The composting outhouse toilets are not great. Overall was a fun weekend trip. Outdoor shower at a general store down the road.
The group campsites are big enough for the amount of people you can have, have picnic benches, a fire ring, a composting outhouse toilet just for the site, and one of those flat charcoal ‘grills’. It’s located in a very nice area and the people who run the place are nice. Also a semi secluded spot so you don’t necessarily have to worry about others. Will go again.
