A lot of things to do around the campground, and kids will absolutely love it.
They used to have awesome tent camping sites, but they stopped allowing tent camping. RV/camper's are the only thing they allow now.
There are only a handful of spots here, and it floods with heavy rain. But it's close to downtown Edinburgh, which is a nice little town. The campground is inside Irwin park, which has boat ramp access to blue river, horseshoe pits, shelters, and a nice big playground.
Hardin Ridge is a fantastic place to camp, and is very close to lake Monroe. But it's also quite a ways away from any stores in case you forget anything.
This is our go-to when we want a fun weekend, but don't want to go far. The campgrounds are gorgeous, with lots of shady spots, and some awesome trails, including two around the two lakes in the park. Nashville is only a 5 minute drive from the campgrounds, and it's a blast going to all of the different shops and restaurants located in town.
