We did a very primitive trip here; riding motorbikes from LA up to Yosemite.

Toured with Wilderness Collective. AMAZING people based out of LA.

The trails are honestly some of the most gorgeous I have ever seen.

There were some bears nearby - prepare for that! Oh & it was pretty chilly in the fall.

Bring what you need. And ready yourself to be humbled by the majesty of your surroundings

My wife has camped here for the last 26 years. It is a yearly tradition. The lake is beautiful, bathrooms are always clean, the campsites are so beautifully wooded. She says loop B is her favorite, but loop A is very convenient if you have little ones. The path to the lake is a great adventure. You can jump on the Appalachian Trail for a hike. Some of the family is still going every year. They also have fishing, paddle boats, and a snack bar at the lake.

Great spot right on Lake Gaston. The little marina is awesome. Everyone is super helpful. There is a great snack bar & store.

We rented a cabin & although it was small, the kids had a blast.

I highly recommend this spot.

Such a lovely spot! You can just roll in, set up & hit the most amazing trails!! Wonderful view of Seneca Rocks.

We did a little climbing & bouldering over the weekend.

Definitely want to go back!

Great place to get away!! No Cell Signal… Lots of trails around. Wonderful views all around! I love to go early spring & fall.

The beat place for star gazing! Just ask for a telescope (free at the store) and stare up at the sky for hours!

We loved this spot!

The gift shop was amazing & the park rangers were very helpful.

My 4 yr old spent hours playing with all the little animals the ranger station had.

The pool was PACKED in July and it got SUPER HOT!

Would have been better to bring a trailer or RV at that time of year.

My family had a blast! There is a TON of stuff for the kids. The game room, snack bar, store made life easy. The pool and water activities were PERFECT!

This is a good spot of you are looking to get away for a week or two & just not have to worry about the kids.

The location is awesome; close to some great hiking spots, very accessible & well laid out.

The kids are guaranteed to catch something in the fishing hole & the camp store has EVERYTHING!!

Close to the oceanfront, nice pool, snack bar & activities for the kiddos. Ocean Breeze Fun Park, Motor World & The VA Aquarium are all super close. Pretty solid choice for a family looking to entertain a bunch of kids

It is super accessible, has a great beach, snack shop/store and facilities. We live IN Virginia Beach but still crash here every so often just to get outside for the night. Its a great spot for a family w/ kids. They can ride their bikes around safely.
