We have stayed at Bald Eagle several times and have enjoyed our stay. The park has basic, water & electric as well as a few full hookup up sites. The sites are very spacious with a picnic table and fire rings and are easy to back into even with a rig as big as ours. We stayed recently and the park office was undergoing rennovations and expanding their camp store. We discovered one of the evening talks about the eagles nesting in the park and the ranger set up binoculars for us to try and see the nest. Very peaceful place to stay with lots to explore. The views are spectacular in the fall with beautiful foliage! If you are not the camping type you can stay at the Nature Inn and enjoy the beautiful lodge in an amazing location! Definitely tops on our list of state parks in Pennsylvania!
Don Laine campground is right up the road from where we used to live and our temporary home now whenever we are back in the area to visit family & friends! This campground has everything you could possibly want & more whether you are here for a night or a month! We have been here in summer & fall and there are planned activities for both young and old every weekend they are open. They have basic to full hookup up campsites that are spacious with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding countryside! They also have a swimming pool and very well stocked camp store so if you forgot something they probably have it in the store. They also have an on site restaurant that is open if you don't feel like cooking at your campsite. Oh and don't forget to watch for the rabbits and deer that appear every evening to entertain you! Packed on the weekends but quiet during the week but I highly recommend making your reservation early because this is a great place to stay!!
Pinecreek is a beautiful park in a great area 10 minutes from downtown Ithica New York and Lake Cayuga. The area has everything you could possibly want or need. Fabulous State Parks with spectacular waterfalls, a farmers market right on the lake front, Cornell University and so much more. That being said it may be the reason the campground doesn't offer any planned activities. They do have a swimming pool and what appears to be a large clubhouse/meeting area that is not or was not used while we were there, nor were any activities publicized. They do have a small arcade but it did not stay open past 8 pm and did not appear to be air-conditioned.
Our campsite was a full hookup with a large grassy area for setting up our outside chairs and picnic table. Although we enjoyed our stay we felt it was a bit overpriced for not having much to offer. They also have a very long list of rules & while they do allow pets there is a list of breed restrictions you need to be aware of before booking a reservation. They also charge for electricity on any stays one week or longer which we had not encountered previously at campgrounds where we have stayed.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but not sure we would stay again.
The best thing about this park is location, location, location! Situated on the bottom of Seneca Lake you are just a short walk to downtown and Watkins Glen State Park. In addition directly across the street from the park is a local park with a small beach for swimming. The park itself seems to be mostly seasonal campers but the section near the office is for campers who are staying shorter periods of time or transient campers. We did have a large pull through site that accommodated our 40ft RV. Staff were very friendly and helpful with anything you may need to know about the area. Needless to say you are in wine country with wineries and breweries galore to explore! The Walmart is across the bridge a 5 minute walk away to pick up any supplies you may need. The one negative was the time we were there it rained heavily and the ground was quite saturated and roadway was somewhat flooded. However we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
Atlantic Blueberry has a lot to offer campers from seasonal sites to large pull through sites for RV's as well as sites for tent camping. Located in Port Republic not far from Brigantine & Atlantic City. The park has a nice size pool as well as a kiddie pool. There is also a playground for the kids, camp store with some basic supplies as well as some planned activities on the weekends. We spent a month here while visiting family and while it was pretty busy on the weekends the weekdays were pretty quiet. The staff were very pleasant, accommodating and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. The only reason I gave only 4 stars is the description on there website does not make it clear what the difference is between premium & deluxe hookups. We thought we had booked a fhu site but are only able to dispose of our grey water. The black tank must be pumped out for an additional charge. Otherwise we would stay here again if we could get a site with full sewer hookup.
