Nice campsite located right on Highway 89, 1 mile from Truckee and a short drive to Tahoe City. Right on the Truckee River and has 68 family sites and 7 walk in sites. Fishing is excellent from the banks of the river and this site is open from mid May - September. Closed during the winter months. The best sites are 6, 8, 10, and 10. $22 per night and reservable online. The Highway is loud during the day, that's the only downfall from this beautiful spot.
Beautiful location nestled amongst the Aspens on the banks of Bishop Creek. Small campground with only 8 first come first served spots so plan ahead, but it's worth it. $23 per night, maximum stay is 7 days, beer boxes provided. 20 miles from Bishop, CA. No water and a vaulte toilet. Trailers and RV's not recommended.
Very Primitive location but beautiful in its own right. Gets dusty, tons of birds, close to the Salton Sea and no complaints. $7 per night for a tent site, a little more for hookups. $2 day rate use fee.
The Salton Sea is a required taste, you either love it or you hate it and I absolutely love it here! It's solitude and the glow of the sky at sunset over the water is just magical. $20 per night, $7 day use fee, $5 boat launch, RV $30 per night. So many wild birds to photograph and the sunsets are a must see. Also go to Salvation Mountain which is close by, another bucket list spot to scratch off the list.
Beautiful campground located outside of Jackson, Wyoming. Perfect for day trips in and around the Grand Tetons. Lots of wild moose, bison and all types of other beautiful animals just do not approach them. $28 per night, first come first served $52 per night for RV ADA sites. Go see the Mountain Barn that's just up the road, stunning! The moose photo I took right by my campsite, amazing place.
Lundy Canyon is usually closed during the winter months due to snow but tends to open up mid April every year. Located very close to the beautiful Mono Lake which is a must see for anyone.
At an elevation of 7660ft it can get a bit chilly so pack some warm items. $16 per night, 36 first come first served sites and there's a campground host onsite. They have restrooms, picnic tables, fire rings, and bear boxes.
Excellent location, stunning scenery, limited cell service, sounds perfect because it is. Fishing, exploring and just relaxing. Fun dirt roads close for exploring, gas station, restaurant pretty close. Right on the state line of Nevada and California.

Camped here for a few days and it's such a unique place. Very hot during the summer, can get very windy at night and cold. Come prepared with lots of water and 3 season clothing/sun block and lip balm. The wind will scorch!
Alabama Hills is located off the beautiful Highway 395. Camping here is a great experience, no designated sites just open land and so much open space. The view of the mountains and rock formations are a must see. This should be on everyone's bucket list.
Great campground, lots of spots for both tent and RV. Easy access right off the freeway but tucked into trees so you don't hear any road noise. Nice hiking trails, clean restrooms and very nice staff. Well maintained! I camp here one week a month while I work in Tahoe and it's open year around. First come first serve!
