Short and windy trip

Had a great time exploring the ghost town with my kids. I recommend doing the tour of the mine for a small fee. A lot was still shut down due to the pandemic. Super windy but we opted to stay in one of the small cabins. It was nice and clean. Bathrooms were also clean and well-maintained. It was an overall good, one-night stay vacation!

Basic Needs Met

We stayed full-time in the park for two months. Front desk worker, Andrea, is amazing! She will bend over backwards to accommodate park's guests. Pool and hot tub are small, but well maintained. Also, bathhouses were kept clean, too! Some sites are nice and others areā€¦not so nice. Pull-thru sites are well kept. Sites (sorry I don't know the numbers) closest to entrance on the left are the nicest it seems. Everyone who stays in those sites have newer, better maintained RVs. Overall, RV park meets basic needs. I would not mind staying here if I could not find anything else. Not exactly a good part of town, but it is a gated park.

Quiet & Satisfying

We found this park last minute because our original place had fire restrictions. We picked right! Park has a nice playground and a trail that has lots of shoot offs. We tent camped, which was a lot of fun! Hardly anyone at this campground. Very quiet. Bathrooms are well-kept, but you have to pay to use showers. Small bundles of firewood was a little overpriced. Staff was nice. Good campground for families!

A place to go back!

My husband and I went this weekend and had a great time! (Although, it rained almost the entire trip.) The primitive sites were great! A little walk to the bathhouse from our site. Bathhouses were clean, heated, and even required a passcode to use. Weā€™re already planning a trip back here with our young boys. So many caverns and caves to explore so donā€™t let rain deter you from visiting!

Family-friendly with little privacy

Campground is very family-friendly! Definitely a campground to bring your bikes to ride around in. Campground has a small playground and store. Some campsites are way too small, even for people staying in tents; however, changing sites was easy. Issaqueena Falls is a MUST see only 11 minutes from the State Park. Enjoyed our time, met some nice people since campsites were so close. We would go back!
