This is one of my favorites!

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. I have stayed here on multiple occasions. Friendly staff, secluded sites, lots of trees, hiking and biking, close to Savanah. Bathrooms are clean and convenient. Campground is clean. I don’t know how many times I’ve stayed here, but I will stay here every time I’m in the area.

Fantastic

We loved this place. Pool, playground, jumping pad, horse shoes, roomy tent sites, gem mining, friendly staff, great price. My sister did hurt herself on the slide… but we are adults so maybe it’s our fault. YOLO. She’ll be fine. We had a ton of fun. This was a nice stop on our way. They also had bikes and a train for the kids.

Nice place

There were no trees. One side was a train that came by every 15 minutes (wasn’t really that noisy) the other side was a highway. There is a pool and decent bathrooms and showers. The lady at the front desk was so great. I wish I would have gotten her name. She was very helpful. When you stay you get a cute little keychain that says “I survived a night of 1000 trains”. Half of the tent sites didn’t have fire rings. And there were not really parking spaces. There are a lot of negative things in this review but we really enjoyed our stay.

Meh

There were no trees at all. We were told to wait for a white truck when we got there. No one came. We called the security number and they told us they would be by. We waited about 20 minutes and ended up leaving. The tent sites were gravel. Overall not impressed.

Nice little spot

The rangers were very friendly. The tent spaces are pretty close together. Finding a shower in the morning is nearly impossible. The bathrooms are not clean and there is no light. It does have beach access and lots of trees. There are also ground squirrels that will be up rustling around all night. They are pretty cute during the day though. Not a bad campground for the price.

Good and Bad

First of all this is a fisherman’s campground. It looks a little rough. It has the basics. The bathrooms weren’t spectacular. And the road to get there is AWFUL. However, this area has the most fantastic beach scenes. There are seals there and a lighthouse. Tide pools. There is karaoke at the deli that goes pretty late into the night. The staff is very very friendly. Probably the nicest people from our whole trip. Black sands beach is right up the road as well.

Nice and secluded

This place was so serene. So many beautiful trees. Just a few miles from Mount Rushmore. A nice little stream runs along one side. The road to get there is narrow and winding, but wasn’t too long. No showers, but the vault toilets were clean. It does say primitive. I felt so at peace camping here. Large spaces.

Beautiful

This place was so beautiful and peaceful. The bathrooms and showers were clean and nice. Reasonably priced and easy to find. I loved this campground!

Fantastic

This is a nice little place. The tent sites aren’t great. It’s worth the 10 bucks to upgrade. They were very nice and helpful. Connie is fantastic if you call and book. lots of trees and trails. They have a neat suspension bridge and a trail that leads to the river and one that leads to town. Close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away that you aren’t bothered by noise. Showers and bathrooms were ok but clean. Loved staying here.

Great little spot

We stayed at their only cabin. The state park was full and we were in a tent (this place has no tent sites). The price was awesome! The cabin was great! They have all sorts of activities for you and kids if you have them. They just put in a pool. The bathrooms and showers were great! They were super nice and offered free coffee and popcorn in the office. I loved staying here!

This place is great!!!

This place is great!!! They were so friendly! The tent sites are large and grassy with plenty of shade! You even get WiFi at them. They have a pool and hot tub that is heated by the hot springs! Fairly priced and fun! Bathrooms were nice and clean. There is a gravel road if you go in one way so take the next exit.

Horrible

I would give this place no stars if I could! All of the spaces are crammed so tight. there is no room for anything. You would open your door into another camper! Do not camp at the tent sites if you have a tent bigger than a one person. Also be prepared to have trouble getting in and out if you don’t have a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Extremely dangerous road down to the tent sites. You can’t see cars that are coming your way and it’s barely wide enough for one car. This place is also the most outrageous campground I have ever stayed at. $65 bucks for nothing. Not even a site big enough for my tent and car. Mold all over the bathrooms. And extremely rude management. They have no idea what customer service is and do not care about you or your safety. Spend the money and stay somewhere else or make the drive and stay in one of the parks. This place is awful and noisy.
