Spacious Outdoor Living

This campground is one of many around Coralville Lake. Reservations are a must. This campground is close to the dam and the Devonian Fossil Gorge.

Step Back in Time and Imagine

A bit of traffic noise from the county highway. Otherwise lots to do here. Horse shoes, disc golf, woodland trails, and a playground. There is also a historical site - the Richardson-Jakway home built in the 1850’s. The town was platted Buchanan but the locals called it Mudville!!

Family Friendly Campground

This is a great place for families to spend time together. There is a pond for fishing and a beach for swimming. A playground and plenty of shade. Across the pond from the campground you’ll want to check out the huge rock that the park is named after!!

Scenic River Valley Views

This is a quiet county park with beautiful views of the Turkey River valley!! Best for self-contained campers and tents if you don’t mind roughing it.

Great Overnight Stop

Just off of Highway 20. Great overnight stop on our way to Wyoming! Didn’t notice any traffic noise. Sites are grassy and is next to City Park. There are bathrooms but we never found the showers.

Very quiet place to camp along the Little Wapsie River. Very reasonable price!
