Hello! My name is Carrie Anne and nature is my therepy. I am just starting my adventure to see the national parks while I do the self work my soul is calling me to do. There is so much negativity and evil we must remember the good. I have a camper van with all the amenities & travel with my psychiatric service dog Mary. I am here to make you as comfortable as I would want to be if I was offering my home or business as a place for someone to park. Always leave no trace…. leave it better

Right next to the rock

I’m a local and decided to stay here a few weeks. Perfect location right by the rock, this is we’re I come as a local to spend my days so it’s nice to just sleep here too. Park has wifi, cable, small dog run, laundry & dump station, small store showers. Repairs also available on site. Close to plenty of rural adventures or small town fun.

Very friendly perfect location

California, Morro Dunes RV Park

Located right on the beach and ocean near Morro Rock. Within walking distance from Downtown Morro Bay.

Directions: From highway 1 exit at E. G. Lewis Highway(41) and go west toward the beach. The campground will be on the left in less than one mile.

Please see the Campbase map tab for the exact location.

Comment Morro Dunes RV Park is open all year with 170 RV and tent sites available. What a fun place to stay in Morro Bay. It's the best campground in Morro Bay if you want to be right on the beach and close to all the activity of the beach, marina, bay, and downtown area. You can park the car and walk or bike everywhere. The campground is the closest camp spot to Morro Rock. There is a lot of "fun factor" at this campground.

Make reservations early for this campground. It's usually booked solid all summer. If you are unable to obtain a camp site, at the bottom of this page are other near bye campgrounds.

The campground has paved camp roads with level crushed rock parking pads. Picnic tables and fire rings are also available. Shade spots are limited.

There is HorsebackIng in the dunes in front of the campground. There is also a dirt area for parking and unloading horses.

Cell phone service in the area is excellent.

Duplicate

This is a duplicate listing. Great campground, close to Faria and rincon. This is my fav out of the three. 25 was my favorite spot by far

No tent camping

With Hobson & Faria so extremely close rincon is my third choice, but that being said it’s right on the beache but also literally on the highway. So you’re paying to pull over on the side of the highway. Ports pities and trash available. No showers, food is available if you walk to Hobson or Faria campgrounds.

Back again!

Just love this spot, I loved being in spot 25 better than this spot but not enough to move. I am in spot 18 this time right by the stairs, while it’s fun watching the surfers and dogs it’s less private, only spot left tho same day on a Saturday night. I was just stoked it was beachside, what’s the point if you’re not next to the waves

The sound of the waves makes this location the best

I spend a lot of time at coastal campgrounds, this one is gorgeous. Obviously I sugar gettin a spot on the water side, being able to hear the waves all night for me is such amazing therepy. The highway is close but you can’t hear it & there’s a little food joint here which for how small of a campground it is I love. bathrooms at campgrounds in Ventura in general have always been cleAn, and this one was too! FYI: Train tracks close by, not a bother with wave sounds but just know it’s there. I found it gorgeous at night as it goes by next to the lights of campers by the coast. Will be back!

Meh

Cleanliness: 10/10 Privacy: 0/10 Location: 5/10 nice park but super close to the street and other vehicles. Service: in some areas, one bar (att) Area: close to food etc just right down the hill. I used to live in this area, had no idea this was here. If you need something in this area this is a good spot, but I wouldn’t stop by choice if you could keep going somewhere more interesting.

Don’t forget quarters for showers! Wonderful playground if you have kids. Lots of grass for dogs too

Already obsessed

If your directions take you somewhere before the beach just keep going until you’re there. The food at the small store/cafe is amazing. I’m in site 16 and was scared I wouldn’t have a view. Wow was I wrong, this site is what I would say is the best. Back in the corner looking down in it all!!! The spots I the middle are great but close, and close to the playground. If available I would have chosen a spot up above the cabins or on the lower loop right up against the ocean.

I love the few trains that came through & to top it all off there was a LAUNCH at Vandenburg. Top notch experience, my mother also tells me my grandparents frequented here often :)

Dolphins & your own rocky beach

If I could live here I would. Dolphins passing by constantly, small campground so few people around even when full. Limited hours but cute little cafe. Quarter hott showers and clean bathrooms. It was 70’ in December. I love you California.

Any water front spot is perfection

Camp or glamp

This is a fun little hideaway with a heated pool, but it still feels like camping. Bathrooms with showers, a sauna by the pool, some food all and communal fire pits/couches to lounge on. friendly staff on site who are helpful but not intrusive. Highly recommend going here, our site on the hill was breathtaking views and extremely private. Highly recommend!

Great location, not the cleanest

This is a great place with close beach access. It does tend to be a loud crowd. trash pick up when I was there was awful both times I stayed. Every site was trashed it was pretty empty & lots more sites available. This is the “winter” even though it was 73’…….Only 3 of us in the front section.

Favorite so far

Summary: by far my favorite place ever. For someone who needs to hear the ocean this is that spot! Privacy: small spots, angled well for your own beach if you’re on the water. Hookups at some sites, campfires only allowed at some sites. Location: right off the highway, don’t hear the highway though, low traffic and loud waves Cleanliness: sites and bathrooms kept very clean. Bathrooms/showers: great and clean !! Service: att 4 bars great Surrounding areas for food: Cute market on site with great selection. Look up hours before arriving. Surrounding areas for things to do: beach Parking: easy to back into spots , I only have a van but the rv seemed to do just fine even with the steep entrance into the park. Wi-Fi: available for free

Favorite by far

So close to the beach. For someone who needs to hear the ocean this is the spot. Yes your spots are close together, but just make sure to get one on the water. You’ll never want to leave.

Meh

Cleanliness: 10/10 Privacy: 0/10 Location: 5/10 nice park but super close to the street and other vehicles. Service: in some areas, one bar Area: close to food etc

Favorite of all time

Small campground, every spot is amazing. No cell service or showers. Pit toilets, clean campground. “Hiking” tent spots are a super close walk, not a hike but you cannot have a vehicle at all. 009 is the best view and a big plot. I personalized liked where I was better because I could just see everything :) you really can’t get a bad spot, obviously the closer to the beach side the better. Bring your own water and food etc, there are a few spots close but you’re not going to want to leave. Host and staff have been friendly every time I’ve gone here

Lots of bugs

Small campground which is nice, lots of bugs so be prepared. No service

Quiet & beautiful campground near beach & golf

I live locally & wanted to stay here, so glad I did! Such a gorgeous spot. I stayed In spot 124 & it was perfect! I’d choose spot 125 next time because there’s many hammock trees and none in spot 124. Local tips: Try legends for a local dive bar in Morro bay, visit Montana de oro in Los osos for out of this world beach bluffs & Kuma ramen. Weather superb year round

Quiet clean and private

Small campground in a beautiful area surrounded by hills right next to the beach. Hidden gem & a MUST see. Local firewood in Los osos on the corner of 9th street & pismo street for cheap. Try local restaurant beerwood or the Alehouse on Los osos valley road on the way to the campground. Beautiful year round. All sites equally spaced and good-you’ll love anyone you get!

Beautiful area

Loved staying here, lots of bikers & sites were close together but large so it didn’t feel so bad like other places! Token showers

Lots of shade

This is in a beautiful area, and a gorgeous site but I’ll tell you why I gave it a 3 Pro: friendly staff, lots of shade & some grass at what seemed like all sites, close to small food and many things to do, availability, They let my small van stay at tent only camping, firewood $10 on site, flushable clean bathrooms

Cons: upkeep of foliage was good but walking through whole campsite saw trash and full fire pits at every site. I stayed at two sites and preferred the tent camping first come serve area as it has less vehicle traffic. C36 felt so busy.
