Beautiful park and great campground

Snagged a site early in the morning (first come first serve) and we love it.

Good over night stay while traveling west

Super friendly staff at a park built on the side of a hill. Our site was long but narrow meaning the only place to be outside was in front of the rig.

Noise is an issue from I70 which is constant even with windows shut. No WiFi but strong Verizon

That all said would return for a in-transit stop.

Okay for a transient stay

Clean, well landscaped park….but sites are very close on all sides. The “view” sites are the tightest of them all, but you do have access to a nicely opened area in front/back of RV depending on how you park.

Proximity to Lander is great.

PS. Bit if an eyesore when you first drive in. First impressions count.

Great Colorado State Park

Colorado does a great job with their parks and this is no exception. Stayed here spur of the moment booking two nights prior to the stay. It’s a large facility and when we booked, for a midweek stay, there were 11 sites available, one with power. We had a large site with great views of the mountains and if we stood on our tippy toes we could see the lake.

We’ll be back aiming to snag one of the sites with lakeside views.

Jumping off spot to see the wild horses in Sand Wash Basin

It’s a small town park with sites on two sides. Most have power and some none. We stayed on the northern side away from the main road through town. Water is available as is a dump station but power only at the site.

We used it as a jumping off spot to tour the Sand Wash Basin and it was fine in that regard. No Verizon signal but library is near by and you can pick up WiFi there in a pinch. Only one store/gas station in town and no restaurant.

Great riverside BLM Campground

Fell into this place for two one night and stayed two. We had the first site on the left and the river was our backyard. All other other sites are on the river except two.

We are in a 24’ Class C and dirt road and steep approach were not a problem. Other campers were in trailers (nothing huge) and/or tents. Many of the sites could handle a trailer and tents.

Great place to chill.

(No water nor power and I did not see the vault toilet mentioned, but I wasn’t looking for it. They do have trash containers.)
