Great Free spot, but all packed in May

We arrived at 3PM and all 6 spots were taken. Luckily someone agreed to share! The spots are large and accommodate several tents and most fit 2 cars. There is a picnic table and fire ring at each spot. There are mens and womens pit toilets. Most notable is the plastic and aluminum recycling - we were very impressed.

Beautiful location, but make a reservation

This campground located at the top of little cottonwood canyon is a great relief from the city. But the city is close by, and so are the crowds. The city of Alta runs a shuttle to the area as parking is so limited for day hiking. The campground was quiet except for the motorcycles that seem to enjoy coming/going up the canyon. There is a great hike leaving from the campground to Cecret lake. But again it is very popular, so lots of people.

Get to know your neighbors

Near the entrance to Zion national park, this campground has great views surrounding. However it is a zoo in the summer. If you don't have a reservation, don't bother. Sites are very close together and it's the desert, so don't expect much vegetation to protect you. Full restrooms and water are nice. Loud RV's running their generators are the norm. But you have very few options if you are visiting Zion. I really wish they charged RV's more for usage and separated them completely from use tent dwellers. Doors slamming, generators running till 11pm and starting back up at 6 am… Not a really restful nights sleep

Expensive, not really on the bay. Local Park like feel

We were tired and had few choices, so we found this. It was pretty expensive for camping. Contrary to the name, it is not on the bay, but across from the bay. There were large "field" grassy areas for kids… One loop was almost entirely RV's and looked like a mini-mobile home park. Maybe good for a big family reunion, but not our cup of tea.

Packed tight and very busy. But very scenic

We arrived in Mid August and got one of the last sites. If you are going in the summer, probably better reserve a site! Our site was a walk-in. 4 or 5 shared parking area served 3 close campsites. the campsite was on the river and it was pretty. The campground was quiet - thank god no trains (see money creek review). There was a nice trail past the interpretive area that crosses a bridge over the river - quite pretty. There were full restrooms and running water. Aside from the crowds, we enjoyed our stay.

Great views, somewhat secluded, camping on/near the beach

We really liked this area. Had a bald eagle fly over our heads! Lots of boaters on the lake and they started a little early for our liking. Don't bring your RV as it won't fit on the tight gravel road. Pit toilets and no water, so come prepared. Out only complaint was that most sites were full. We ended up getting on nearest the garbage. And it stank for the first night. Somebody must have gutted fish in it or something worse. And of course that attracted wasps…

Like trains going by? 7 or so per night?

The site is pretty. However don't plan on sleeping if you are in a tent. Trains go by many times in the night and they woke us up.
