Three dispersed spots. Spot on the end has the best view. No verizon service. Accessible by Van and pickup. Not sure if a low clearance car would make it down the entrance, but probably would. Entrance is a bit steep for trailers.
Note that they do now require a permit to stay here. Sites are first come first served with no reservations. Cost is $10 and you can pay up to 30 min after claiming your site. Great camping area, pit toilet, regularly mowed, great riverside view, level spots for tent and vehicle camping with fire rings.
The past reviews are dead on for all aspects and road conditions.
There is room for two vehicles and multiple tent spots. Very secluded and fairly level. Overall a great spot. If it had an epic view I would have it at 5 stars. River is about .6 mile hike away and the road is not bad getting in. Basically 2 track forest road.
Very nice spot. No toilets or drinking water available. There is a trash barrel by the picnic pavilion, but I think the expectation is to pack out trash. You just can’t beat the location though. Right on the water with a great view.
This place was very clean and most spots were very well spaced out. Porta potties and trash bins. Camp host was nice and they have a 14 day stay limit. Verizon service was pretty spotty. Having a host with no charge threw me for a bit of a loop. I only did an overnight, but it was a great place and had a nice feeling of seclusion without being too far from civilization. Also very clean.
This is a good spot just off the road/trail. Small and kind of tight in the official camping area with three spots kind of spread out. Tight in here, so would not recommend a trailer. There is a parking area just past the camping turn off though with room for a trailer. Camp sights had a lot of trash. I cleaned what I could till I ran out of space to bag any more.
This place has pretty much everything a normal campground would have at no cost. Grass is well kept, bathrooms and showers are clean, hot water, fire rings, picnic tables, and really nice host. There is some noise from the nearby road, but not too bad. Verizon service was good enough to stream Netflix. The registration process was quick and pretty easy. I registered on a Thursday for a stay Friday-Sunday and was able to get a spot.
Sites are spread out and the road is rough getting in. No water or electric. Porta potty on site. No Verizon cell service.
Currently closed, for maintenance, so could not stay there. Sites were level and Verizon service was good. As of 1 Nov closed with no date to reopen. State campground just down the road
I went further up the trail past the lot and there are a few spots up there as well. Nice view of the city and zero noise. Trail up to the top is a rough one though. High clearance needed and offroad tires recommended if going past the lot camp spot. Great off the beaten path spot.
First off the name and pin don’t seem quite right. It is called Limestone Lake Park. The road to the pin is gated. No worries though on the other side of the road is an awesome camping area. It looks way too fancy to be free camping but it is. I had a lakeside spot and had the place all to myself on a weekday. This place seems pretty remote, so mostly local folks would be my guess. Waze took me right here when I put the name in. There is decent Verizon service here too.
Nice refuge for an overnight. I pulled in late. Road from I70 was in good condition. Plenty of spots for camping and a pond.
One of the better rest areas for an overnight stay. Drive past the parking spots and there is a loop for overnight camping. You get road noise, but that is to be expected. Clean rest rooms with room to change cloths if needed. Also has picnic tables, grill, and shade. I was not picky at midnight, but presently surprised.
Nice spot. About 7 spots. Sites are close together, but level with good drainage. Only one spot long enough for a trailer/RV. Pit tiolet and no water. Had Verizon service 12.4Mbps download and .1 upload latency 86ms. Not the fastest speeds, but able to do work over internet. Might not be the best for video meetings.
Nice place with clean camping spots and clean bath house. Have 3 bars signal with Verizon and good speed. Site 26 is good for rooftop tent camping. Shade in afternoon and plenty of room for additional vehicles. Fire ring has a movable grate that is good to cook on.
