Nice place for a rustic forest campground. Nice beach with a shallow weed free swimming area. The sites are large and semi-private, quite a bit of space between the sites. In addition, this rustic campground has showers and flush toilets! Nice upgrade. Just be careful with navigation, all the systems have this road that does not exist, very strange. Approach for the south off 11 mile road. If your nav system is directing you north override it, it will take you to a dead end. Both google and apple maps have the problem.
First thing that caught my attention is that sites are larger than most state park campgrounds. The bathrooms are standard state park stuff, but they are clean. Lake is a bit weedy, but trails are great for hiking. Remember, only electric at the state parks.
There are new owners here and they’re making improvements! Bathrooms are redone and in great shape and clean. The sites are small, but yet nice. Mine was 17 and was good. Lots of trees here, so you have to manage your trailer pretty well here. Owners are nice too.
What’s not to like if you have kids or grandkids. Great shallow pool, splash pad, water slides, mini-golf, trampoline area, sandy beachfront, close to Lake Huron, ice cream, pizza, stocked general store, arcade, peddle cars. I mean this place is great. For the adults the sites are large, most have water, electric AND SEWER. You can have firewood delivered to your site. The place is very well designed and laid out for easy access to everything. Slightly expensive but so worth it for families that want a low cost vacation. For those that don’t have a trailer you can bring a tent but there are beautiful small and also larger deluxe cabins.
The negatives - bad WiFi but what campground has good WiFi? Limited showers. They are nice but just not enough of them for the number of people that are here.
This campground is small with small sites. However some sites do have electricity and water. I think all have electric. The park is nice for fishing and hiking and there are spots for the kids to play.
One huge problem I had was the lack of staff midweek. As it turned out they were going to seal the asphalt the next day so I moved on and did not spend as much time as I wanted to. I probably will not return to this campground due to the size of the sites.
This is a great campground. The sites are large. Most have water and electricity. Nice admenities like a clubhouse with pool tables, clean flush toilets and shower areas, a nice small lake for swimming. It is off the road and well marked on the road but my GPS had the address about 1/4 mile away from the entrance. The hosts are very friendly and extremely helpful.
