We woke up and enjoyed most of the first half of the day enjoying Yellowstone. We left Old Faithful around 1:30 to start heading home.
We found the Rawlings KOA a perfect over night rest stop for us. We were heading back to Georgia.
The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The hosts were great to work with and the access to the interstate is crazy easy.
We were in the H Loop with maybe only three other campers. A-D loops were fairly full for post Covid camping.
Keep your food items put away. We saw no bear in our camp but enjoyed watching the moose walk by.
We really enjoyed our three nights here. The views of the lake were amazing. The CCC did a remarkable job here. I want to come back in the winter.
The camp host, Sally, did a great job keeping the garbage emptied and restroom/outhouses clean.
You are close to Highway 16 and the turning loop will not accommodate large pull behinds or RV’s.
This is a perfect spot close to the highway if you want easy access and to forget how close you are to getting back on the road. Easy access to spots. There’s something for any tent, RV, travel trailer you wanna bring.
This KOA just north of the Iowa border is first class. ! Friendly staff and perfect for kiddos. The pool and adventure area are right up your alley if traveling with kids.
Great FREE site near plenty of hiking trails, world class rock climbing, etc.
I discovered more secluded camp sites more suitable for the seclusion I seek when camping.
I had a wonderful late November five night, tent camping, surf fishing week at a wonderful, clean, quiet campground. I stayed in site D-17 and recommend any of those sites on the outer perimeter of D loop.
The bath houses were always clean. The park hosts were friendly and accessible. The town of Ocracoke is only a five minute drive yet a world away from this peaceful place.
