Disappointed

We had high hopes for Whitehall Bay. But our trip was about as bumpy as the road was coming into the campground.

Our site was a group of three that were tightly grouped together in a full hook up area. This was our first time with full hook ups so that could have been the issue but we felt like we were right on top of our neighbors.

There is not a lot to do for kids which is unfortunate, the beach looked extremely steep, however we did not use it.

The area itself is very beautiful and the lake had a great rocky shoreline worth exploring. But that is about as much of the good things I can speak of when it comes to Whitehall Bay.

Bucksaw is the place

From the moment we pulled into Bucksaw campground we knew we were in for a great weekend… minus the large group that had gathered and the drunks who tried to help me back in.

Most sites are shaded and offer electric… most in the B loop have water and there are some full hook ups around.

Campsites are very spacious and everyone was very nice. The camp host even came around and offered everyone suckers.

There is a very nice beach and a short walking trail. I wish the trail went down to the lake.

We definitely will be coming back.

Great city campground

This is a surprising little campground. We took our first trip in our new RV and was able to camp right along the water. The restrooms are very clean and a fun playground for the kids.

The only downside is that the sites are not very level.

OK Campsite... new bar across the lake kills a good weekend

We camped in the Hobie Cove campground and the site itself was OK. Not a lot of choices for sites that are flat or offer a lot of shade. We did have a good time though exploring the area.

This is our second time camping here and the new bar/restaurant across the lake kills an overall good family camping weekend. There was a live band that had their music so loud we could hear it across the lake from 8-midnight. I'm sure it's just a Friday/Saturday night deal but if you are looking to escape and listen to the crickets, birds, and the occasional laughter of other campers, this lake isn't that place.
