This place is a real gem and by far the best campground we stayed at on our 2 week trip. The sites are nicely spaced out and since the grounds are surrounded by woods, it really feels quiet, private and peaceful. The bathrooms were big and sparkling clean, they even had a dishwashing station outside. Crazy Horse is only 15min away and downtown Custer is only 3 miles down the road. Super convenient for groceries and supplies. My only complaint: we didn't stay longer.
This is a really nice campground inside Badlands. We arrived late and left early, but I would've been happy to stay there longer. We weren't stacked on top of other people and it was well priced for having a sewer hookup at our site. Showers weren't the cleanest, but not the worst I've seen, and that fact was eclipsed by being in such a great location.
We stayed at this KOA on the first night of our trip. Definitely the best KOA experience we've had so far. Check in was quick, spots were easy to pull into, the bathrooms were really clean, and it was surprisingly quiet despite the proximity to the highway. They even had some huge Halloween decorations and gave us some awesome free flannel coozies at check-in.
