Just a stone's throw from NYC, this state campground has lots of wooded sites. Easily accessible, with fire pits,, picnic tables and great hiking.

Love the proximity to NYC - I always look for areas that are not too far, but not too close to NY. Beautiful but small-ish tent sites. Lots of great hiking in the area in addition to beautiful Cold Spring, NY for the small-town charm.

I always love camping in a state park - this one is easily accessible from NYC and popular. Not for someone looking for quiet and solitude, but good for a good escape. Hiking trails nearby, picnic tables and rest areas available.

Beautiful wooded car camping sites - lots of hiking trails and not far to get to the Jersey Shore to add variety to your trip! Lots of amenities provided.

Nice campground with campsites that are close together not providing much privacy. However, clean, dog friendly and good hiking nearby! Great for a getaway but not my first choice of campgrounds in NYS.

This has become one of my go-to campsites for a quick escape from NYC! Especially for that one last trip in November due to their long season. Ample campgrounds with the choice to hike in or drive in. Friendly people, great hiking and easy to get to from NYC.

This is hands down one of my favorite NYC escapes! A short drive to these rustic tent-only spots, dog friendly, nice rangers and great trees for hammocks! This is my go-to in the summers.
