Accessible via Hana Road, this is a must stop! Beautiful oceanside waves pounding onto the cliffside. Blowholes, hikes and a black sand beach. Register in advance. Not quite car camping, only a public cold shower, bathrooms, and a soda vending machine. Bring your own tent and camp out with everyone. It is a big place and just so you know, it is also a tourist destination, so prepare yourself for buses.
I enjoyed the views, hike down to the black sand beach.
Awesome place to visit, with over 30 caves to explore from easy to challenging, the Lava Beds are unique and full of history. Tule Lake is just around the corner. Indian Wells offers great and inexpensive accommodations.
I loved the Lava Beds that I came back this summer. It's a gorgeous landscape and you will not be disappointed!
This campground is great! Large and welcome walk-ins. Walking distance to June Lake. Flushing toilets and sinks and well kept receptacles.
Definitely recommend if nearby Yosemite is full. Mono Lake is not too far either.
