First, the owners are SO nice and helpful. The campground is right off the exit so it is very convenient and easy to get to, they have full hook ups for a very reasonable price so it was a great choice for a stop on our cross country trip. The amenities are nice- they have a pool, large playground, mini put and standard camp store. Things look a bit old but well maintained. Each spot had a porch swing, picnic table and fire ring which we very much enjoyed. The laundry room was closed due to Covid, but they do have one which is helpful too :) my kids particularly enjoyed the mini put and pool.
Wide open park with very very easy access. The people running the place were incredibly friendly and helpful, the park is very close to the “attractions” which looked very cool. We only stayed one night on our trek out west but got to try the Ronneburg restaurant which was some great home style German American food with local meats. We had an incredible, undisrupted view of the stars at night which thrilled my daughter who brought a small telescope, and plenty of open space for running without disrupting other campers.
The down sides of the park were that the roads and pads are gravel so I could see it becoming an issue during weather but we didn’t have much trouble leveling.
A nice site, close to hiking. The RV spots were a bit close together and “partially shaded” doesn’t actually mean partially shaded but the site is well maintained, beautiful, there are several dump stations and water fill ups. A gorgeous hiking loop links straight off the campground and from there you can access many of the other trails. The suspension bridge and ravines are not to be missed.
