Everything wrong with campground can be found here

If you like fluorescent lights all night from the rv next door… If you like loud parties, this is the campground for you!

1 star for the dunes. 1 Star for the cleanliness.

But one off if you come during dune buggy time.

Although it looks really fun. It’s loud. And Seriously. How can that be good for habitat?

3 stars unless you snag a prime spot

41 and 46-51 are the best in my opinion. 5 stars for 46. Tight campground. Heavy RV use. But incredibly well maintained. friendly host and nice people all around. Windy beach. But wide open without a lot of people. At least midweek. Some deep shade chilly sites and sites right next to 101 are loud during the day.

Decent

small dusty busy Excellent trail near it

Quiet

Especially on the north side of the lake. Walk ins. We had #20. A bit buggy due to marsh adjacent and no view. But larger site. easy for 2 families. We would Probably stay at #21 or 22 next time. Real nice loops around the lake. Very kid friendly. Small lake. Heard owls and had something large around our tent at night.

Paved roads all the way, if you stay in the north end you avoid the rv generators. A mellow campground regardless. Great host. Clean.

The Forest itself seems to be sick and there are signs that wildlife management is trying to rehabilitate.
