We visited in April 2021. Our first trip with our new to us camper. We have camped before but in a popup for years. Our site was very small and we could not put the awning out because of trees. I like trees but this site was too small. We were in a upper loop and most sites were permanent campers. The buildings were not in very good shape and the pool/slide was closed permanently. I am giving this place 2 stars but we won't be back. If you just want a place to park it for a night or 2, it's OK.
We camped at Emberglow campground for a long weekend the third week of April 2022. The campground is amazing. We all had a wonderful time. There was a combination of Camping trailers, and one family rented a Tiny House. The house was beautiful. The bath house and bathroom facilities at the campground were pristine. They were completely tiled and very clean. There were multiple activities for children including a bounce pad, playground and ball pit. The swimming pool was lovely and scheduled to open the next weekend. There are also tent sites available. Some of the RV sites had outdoor kitchens with sinks and propane tanks. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring. Our site had a gravel base. The close proximity to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure is an added bonus. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, but unobtrusive. I highly recommend Emberglow Campground.
I think this was probably the cleanest campground we have stayed. Sites are mostly level, but the orientation of most of the sites seemed odd to us. Our site was a back-in site and the pad with the picnic table and fire ring was on the opposite side as the door of the camper. This was very awkward to us.
Nice hiking trails that are well marked. There is not much to do in the immediate area if you leave the campground.
Very well maintained campground. We would stay here again.
I've learned my lesson!! I will pay closer attention to reviews from multiple sites in the future. This place is not as advertised. We camped there over the 4th of July. Arrived as scheduled on Friday to find that the site we booked had a camper in storage on it. The owner of the campground said just take the one next to it. That site had two storage buildings and the sewer dump was uphill. We ask if we could setup on the site above that one and had no electricity because the electric pole had the wires switched. We had to wait for someone to come and fix that. The person that came was nice, but really didn't seem to know what he was doing. The simple repair took almost an hour. Most of the RV's there are long term. The campground is dirty, our site was covered in cigarette butts. Our picnic table was rotten and couldn't be used. There was no metal ring for a campfire at our site.
The owner knew we would not be able to find another campground with availability due to the holiday. She was rude and uncaring. I was very disappointed in our experience.
Our group had both an RV and a large tent. The room allowed for both was very generous. The grounds and bath house were clean and well maintained. Barry the owner is very helpful and accommodating. He will deliver wood to your campsite, if you need to buy wood. Our sites were creek side. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek and on the playground. The grounds are adjacent to the Stone Mountain State Park. Very fun long weekend at a family friendly campground. Would definitely camp here again!
