Tent sites are small. Ground is very hard to put tent stakes in. Bath house is clean. They have washer and dryer. People are loud all night. Unless you have a watercraft of some kind or are going to the beach there's nothing to do at the campground. We left a day early due to the heat. It was nice to have trash cans at the site.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay! Spacious sites. It was pretty quiet even though it was New years. There was a few downside. Lots of big roots for setting up a tent. No privacy between sites. One toilet. So bring your own. Over all we will go back if we want to primitive camp, its free!!
Our favorite so far. These sites are beautiful! Concert pads and large grassy areas on each one Most had shade trees. Only 27 sites. The bathhouse was always clean. Ranger Arron was very nice and helpful! Alot of jeepers camp here. Lots of clay roads to ride on. We'll definitely go back!
This was a very nice swimming and paddle boat park on the Hillsborough River when I was a kid.As a family we visited many times. Now everything is closed down except camping, hiking, canoeing if you bring your own. But still a nice place to camp. Better if not during rainy season here in Florida. The ground was wet. Some sites had overflow from the river, I guess? Our site was nice. We had water and electricity. Pretty quiet. Lots of dogs. Very nice Rangers. Also someone went through every evening selling ice and firewood, which was great! Overall we will go back.
We loved the large sites. And pretty private. Wooded areas between sites. Nice clean restrooms and showers. Only 2 showers in the ladies bath house. It's old but clean. But it's sapose to be no pets. And a camper near us had a very large dog in a cage that barked all day. Very annoying. Bad area for ticks. Rangers check sites several times a day and are very nice. Also there is water but no electricity. We will go back. No generator after 10pm.
Well we didn't like the tent and RV sites. They're in an open area on gravel with no shade and hardly no divisions. There are other areas for special groups that are much nicer. But for individual campers. The equestrian area was the nicest to us. But you must have a horse to stay there.
This was our 1st camping trip in years. This is the only place I could find an opening for Memorial day weekend near by. We liked it. Most sites pretty private. But no electric hook up. And there is a tick problem. But overall we will go again.
