We stayed in Loop A on a Thursday night in July. For us, it was a convenient overnight stop. It was a lot less crazy/ crowded than we expected for an LA County campground in the middle of summer! This site is on the lagoon, not the main lake, but had nice views and a good breeze in the heat. Very minimal space, not much shade. But the real issue was that the bathroom stalls in our loop (A) had no doors. I also doubt they are cleaned daily, though it wasn't terrible. Being close to the city, there were a ton of people meandering around, but they all seemed to be doing their own thing (e.g fishing or just walking), few suspicious characters. Lots of families and kids made it feel fairly safe for an urban campground. Not our favorite, but we would stop over here again in a pinch.

Clean and safe overnight stop along I-5. Friendly and helpful staff. Security on patrol in golf carts. A little expensive, but not bad when considering the alternatives. We'll likely stop here again when on our way somewhere.

This is a safe, clean, quiet overnight stopover (not a destination, nor advertised as one - rating reflects this). We found the same-day after hours check-in to be easy and clearly explained, prices reasonable, and restroom facilities exceptionally clean. We were on our way home from a longer trip and decided not to drive all the way through, found this last-minute and were very happy. We would stop overnight here again in a heartbeat. We had cell coverage though I didn't note the details. Decent WiFi (free!).

We stayed in this County Park campground primarily to spend time with some friends who headed down from Washington. It was great for that purpose- they reserved two adjacent campsites on the South Fork Walla Walla River. We spent most of our time hanging out at the campsites, with some leisurely strolls to check out the rest of the park. The sites along the river, and the river itself, are beautiful. They are angled nicely to allow views of the river(and less of neighboring sites), with vegetation between sites to add a little extra privacy. Our friends and most other campers were in larger RVs with bathrooms, which I think is the target customer. Since we have a small teardrop(no bathroom), we used the flush restroom at the park. The bathroom was clean, but not really comfortable to use, as the fixtures are "institutional"-style and solid stainless steel- made for durability no doubt, or to survive the next flood, but definitely uncomfortable on cold mornings! If we stay here again we will likely set up a portable bathroom. The gentleman who runs/maintains the park is pleasant and on the grounds regularly. Electrical and water hookups available, but no hot water or showers, and no cell reception or wifi.
