Secluded rustic site close to Hamilton

Secluded, rustic, and free campsite by Skalkaho Creek. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. This campsite is first-come, first-served. We arrived here around 6:00 on a Friday night in June and plenty of spots were still available. The sites feel very private. There were groups staying at the sites on either side of us, but we barely heard them. My one complaint is that there’s only one vault toilet, so a lot of sites are far from the restroom.

Great value next to West Glacier

This was such a cute campsite and it’s literally 3 minutes from the west entrance of the park. I ended up staying an extra night, and the staff was super helpful and friendly in accommodating me. An unexpected big plus was the cafe on site! They do great brunch and mimosas in the morning, and excellent barbecue at night. The only drawback was that the campsites are really close to each other. I was on the phone with my mom and she could hear people from the next site over talking at a regular volume. Overall though, I’d be happy to come back and will probably stay here next time I’m by the west entrance.

“One of the nicest campgrounds” is accurate

I choose this campsite because the front page of their website said “‘this is one of the nicest campgrounds we’ve stayed at’ is frequently heard here.” It really is! Three things stand out:

1) the bathrooms are SO NICE! The shower is better than the one I have at home. 2) the staff is super friendly. I booked pretty last minute, so originally I booked two different campsites. They noticed this and worked to get me on the same site both nights. 3) the site itself is really pretty. The sites are nicely wooded, but still close enough to the bathhouses. Lots of pines around. They also have a lot of pretty flowers planted!
