NOT family friendly…unless you don't mind your tiny humans seeing naked people wandering around. Other than that, awesome place to visit!! Dispersed camping right on the Verde River. The drive in from the highway takes about an hour on a dirt road and can be done in a standard clearance vehicle. However, the last stretch is rough and must be carefully maneuvered. If you visit during the week, it will likely peaceful and not crowded. Weekends are the opposite, with quite a few large groups of loud party types. Vault toilet; no potable water; no firewood; no tables and closest store is in Camp Verde. The 1.5 mile hike from the campground to the hot springs is absolutely worth the effort. You will have to cross the river, so don't take anything that can't get wet.

Very small, somewhat remote campground. I was there during the week of 4th of July and there were only a few spots occupied. All sites are "walk to" from the parking lot. Overlooks the Pere Marquette river and has a small sandy shore where you can get into the water to cool off or do some fishing. This is also a landing spot for folks that rent kayaks or canoes from Baldwin, which is the closest town. Vault toilets, tables and fire rings; no other services.

Several loops in this large campground, but it fills up on the weekend, so make a reservation. Small general store on site and firewood is available. Campground and all facilities were clean and well cared for. There is also a beach to do some swimming!

The grounds were clean as well as the bathrooms. Well spaced campsites with bushes and trees in between to provide privacy. Although in the spring, the greenery was fairly thin. Quite a few large groups partying in the evening but quieted down around 10pm. Trail around the lake is well maintained.

Spacious campsites with some overlooking the lake. The camp store rents canoes and kayaks. Quiet hours are strictly enforced. Entire campground was clean.
