Lots and lots of children

this place is great for families with children. But if you’re looking for a quiet kid-free-get-away, I wouldn’t recommend.

Crowded, but also, Martha’s Vineyard

This camp site was busting at the seams. But also, not much to complain about when you’re on Martha’s Vineyard. Would recommend an air b n b instead. But great option for last minute if available.

Fun, friendly, beautiful, close to hikes!

Lovely camp site with access to a lot of amenities, all the while keeping a “primative” feel. Pool, playground, camp store, bike and golf cart rentals. Super easy access to Appalachian trail. Trail heads begin inside the campsite. Outhouses could use a little work. But a further walk will take you to flushing toilets and showers that are nice.

Rules, lights, and no trees

When we arrived and checked in we were immediately handed a 2 page long sheet of rules to review. No touching the trees or alcohol were among the list. We drove through a paved parking lot to find our site with a 10x10 rock slab for our tent, surrounded by freshly mowed grass, large RVs, concrete curbs, and a chain link fence. The security guard came by mulptile times to either tell us we were breaking a rule or just to spy. Right next door is a trailer park so as soon as the sun went down, the flood lights came on. No peace, no quiet, no privacy, no nature.

Close to river and nicely shaded

This site is great for people trying to cool off! River system that is perfect for swimming, tubing, wading, or bridge jumping.

A beautiful escape

Great secluded sites available. There are also spots near the camp store and river that are more “centrally” located if that’s what you’re after. Only outhouses near the primitive sites. Lots of bugs (ticks).

Beautiful scenery in close to Philly

This camp site is super convenient and close to Philly/Trenton/ocean city. But when you’re there you don’t feel totally secluded. The camp sites are a little close together and there are busy roads in close proximity. That being said, when you need a quick get-away with beautiful scenery, it’s a great option!
