This campsite did the trick in a pinch , but it was truly one of my least favorite experiences. We had a full hook up, but we’re unable to choose our site and we’re put directly next to the highway. We were also right next to the gas station which resulted in a ton of noise. There was also a sewage smell that no one could pin down where it was coming from that was unavoidable when outside.
The most concerning part of our state was that over the four nights, the bathrooms were not cleaned once. This was evident as the same shit explosion that remained on the toilet seat the entire time we stay there. As well as the hair in the sink that lingered for the entire four days and no refill on the paper towels or soap dispenser that were out.
The showers were coin operated which was disappointing, but the water was hot. They’re also codes for the bathroom and laundry room. We were placed next to lifers and the sites themselves were quite small. Sadly, we were the only site without a fire ring that had a grill top. For some reason this one was only cinderblocks that we’re not large enough to contain our firewood. No Verizon and ATT went in and out.
For the pros: there was reliable and usable Wi-Fi. It was incredibly close to Jedediah state park. Lastly, the staff sent out a great email listing out a ton of options in the area for hiking eating etc.
Having walked around Jedediahs campsite, it is far far far superior to this RV stay. I would highly recommend checking out a Campsite there if possible. This campsite is incredibly close to Jedediah and honestly that’s its only benefit.
This campground was in a great location to go see crater lake (15 min drive or less) as well as nearby Hot Springs (30ish min drive) and waterfalls. The campground itself was wooded and very close to diamond lake, it was a very beautiful location. There were lots of close by walking trails which was wonderful.
The amenities were nice enough, sometimes the showers are hot and others times was not. Most of the laundry machines were working with several out of service, and worked well enough.
The staff was helpful and gave suggestions for nearby hiking and Hot Springs. Sites included fire ring, a picnic table, and full hook ups. The stars at night were incredible.
Amazing spot— gorgeous, full of wildlife, and lots of wonderful trails close by. There’s a wildlife viewing area are close by. We saw so many elk, water birds, and at least 5 bald eagles (with a nest close by.)
Took a day to hang out in the surrounding woods in a hammock.
Amenities are pretty good—but no laundry and there’s a sump station.
No laundry. No WiFi and minimal cell service for both Verizon and ATT.
The surrounding area is beautiful, close to Portland and has many trails.
The spots are tiny and not easy to fit in we had a 25’ trailer and our truck struggled to not be on the road.
Loved this spot. Gorgeous, lots of unique sites. Only downside is incredibly loud atv and dirt bike activity.
These sites are beautiful and really meant for tent camping—but you can park an rv in most of the spots.
There is a vault toilet closer to site 14 but no hookups.
OHV vehicles are incredibly loud and ran throughout the weekend— but I have a feeling it’s very quiet on the week days.
Gorgeous—lovely area, no real amenities or ATT/ Verizon service.
This campground is right next to a state park. It’s also very close to a river and lots of woods. We stayed here to see Olympic national park, (I wouldn’t recommend this location to travel to Olympic every day, it was very far.)
The amenities were nice, bathrooms with warm water (one shower per bathroom.)
No laundry, no Wi-Fi and both Verizon and AT&T worked with about one bar.
The sites were level spacious and had a fire ring and picnic table at each. We chose the full hookup option. Firewood could be purchased through the camp host.
The best part about this day was the surrounding area. Every night, my husband and I would walk to the wildlife viewing platform to see lots of birds, or walk down by the river and see lots of elk and bald eagles.
This park is HUGE. We explored it on foot the first night, but really kept to our section for the next few days. We stayed in the full hookup section so I can only speak to phone service and WiFi in that area. We were also able to choose any open spot in the full hookup area and we’re not assigned to anything specifically. Also, there were many folks who live there/ have stayed there for ages.
Amenities:
Laundry room Country store Bathrooms & showers Full hookups (can also choose sites with just water/ electric hookup)
Lacking:
Working WiFi Dumpsters
ATT& Verizon service worked well. Bathrooms were not cleaned daily, and looked like they were maintained only one day that we were there. There is hot water in the showers, but some of the handles are switched—and it took a long time to warm up. Also, shower stalls have no divide from one another so if there is anyone else in there at the same time I couldn’t imagine showering.
The full hookup area has lots of gorgeous old trees that provide privacy and shade.
We didn’t find dumpsters nearby our site or on the way out—so we used the trash cans at the bathroom.
Packwood is close by and a very cute little town—but some days it seems closed (Tuesday/ Wednesday.) There was also a forest fire close by that certainly could have changed the normal course of life in the area.
Lovely dispersed camping area. Very pretty. We stayed for a night and were in good company. By the end of the day each site was filled and there were several folks driving through still looking for sites.
They’re spaced out well from one another giving all campers lots of privacy. Very wooded with paths down to the water. We hung out on a hammock most of the day but it rained throughout the night and into the next day so I wasn’t able to snag any good photos.
We small camper trailers, tents, single cots, and full RVs in this campground. Our site and seemingly most sites could have supported a 50 footer.
Although a popular spot, it wasn’t loud and we didn’t really interact with other campers.
There is a single vault toilet but no hookups. It’s dispersed camping. No water source beyond the river.
Great spot, highly recommend. I would try to get there early to grab a spot (first come first serve.) We went late September and every spot ended up filled.
ATT & Verizon service work well. Sites very unlevel
No complaints! Cute area, near some scenic areas of exploration.
Amenities:
Camp host (sells ice and wood) Water Electricity Sink for dishwashing Trailhead for explorations Picnic table Fire ring ATT& Verizon Dump station Dumpsters Shower Toilets
Lacking:
Laundry Sewer hookup WiFi
We spent an overnight here, but it was sadly not a great stay. I can’t recommend this spot for the following reasons:
The site was backed led up against the highway and was not only was it so loud we couldn’t sleep—it literally shook the rig despite stabilizers. If we’d been further into the park, it still would have been uncomfortably loud.
There is a highway bridge that leads directly in the park—almost directly into the site we were given. People were constantly walking into the site from the bridge day and night. This felt less safe than much of the isolated boondocking we’ve done—or honestly any of our camping.
Our site was covered in trash. It could be in part due to the highway, but I’ve never had site with more trash left behind ever.
No access to WiFi, this could be because we never spoke to staff. The restroom closest to our site was unexpectedly locked—had to use the other that had only one shower stall and two toilets. Shower was fine and had hot water, but that bathroom couldn’t support the volume of campers.
The staff left midday and were completely unreachable. We needed to find out spot, purchase quarters for laundry, and had questions about amenities/ the campground and we’re unable to talk to anyone.
Amenities were ultimately fine and if none of those other elements bothered you ^ you’ll be fine.
All around favorite!
Great location. Close to West Glacier, in the woods, and all sites are wooded and have space from one another. We had full hooks ups. Bears frequent area.
Awesome staff—so helpful and willing to give lots of Glacier advice.
No WiFi, no ATT but Verizon worked well.
Hot water in showers, nice bathrooms, great laundry facility.
One of my absolute favorites—highly recommended!
The campsite was in a beautiful location with some nature walks down to the river and with a paved bike path— Some reviews mentioned that this campsite is right on the river, it’s not. It is right on marshlands, which makes sense for everyone complaining about mosquitoes in previous reviews. We went in September, so no bugs and we had some great nature experiences. It’s still very pretty.
Ultimately, I don’t think that it was worth the price for not having any amenities.
There is one shared pit toilet for all(well maintained), one drinking water station beside the toilet, no dump station and our site had no electricity, water or sewage. No laundry obviously—no person to check in with.
We paid $40+ for one night which felt steep considering what we got in return. We wanted to Boondock, but had a hard time finding a location close by, so we ended up here.
No Wi-Fi obviously and AT&T and Verizon cell phone service were pretty spotty.
Centrally located between Yellowstone national park in the grand Teton national Park this campground really has it all.
OK, there’s no Wi-Fi but there is laundry with a change machine, they have showers with warm water and toilets, A convenience store with groceries and a gift shop, gas station, and even a restaurant.
The sites are roomy enough not too close to your neighbor. Each site is full hook up and a pull through. ATT and Verizon service worked well.
Location was great to do anything you want to do and Cody, (because Cody is such a small town.)
There is grass and trees (yay shade!) and the lots were big and spacious enough. The owner intentionally spaces you out from your neighbor to give some privacy which is super nice. The lot looks newly refinished in terms of asphalt. Full hookups and picnic tables.
Our site was in the far corner close to the road and field, but traffic wasn’t too loud, and it felt pretty secluded. We could even walk to a grocery store or several fast food/ food truck options. Sites were almost level!
The RV park has laundry and bathrooms both which works just fine. The hot water worked well. Not great Verizon or ATT service, but the WiFi worked well the whole time. You just have to reconnect every time you idle.
While not on the official rodeo bus pick up sheet, we called and asked if they could pick us up and they did without any issue.
Great interactions with staff. Overall, easy and good stay. 5/5 from us!
Fountain of youth RV park definitely has its charm, but also could use some amenity upgrades.
Pros:
Huge hot spring pools open daily from 7am- 9:30 pm. Lots of space and can use floaties even kayaks on the pools. Free use of staying here. Cleaned pools one of the days we were here. Awesome to use at night under the stars.
The views from the pools are gorgeous.
Sites have enough space from one another and full hookups. The owner is really amenable and lets you choose your site.. this is great if you’re looking for more shade or space from neighbors.
There is laundry, showers, and toilets available for use.
Location is awesome—right near the state park, close to the dinosaur center, grocery store is less than a 10 min drive, lots of water activities close by (we went kayaking)
WiFi worked very well the entire time!
Cons:
The owner is definitely nice but runs the establishment by himself and therefore is hard to get a hold of initially and is very busy.
The showers are coin operated. So you have to pay one quarter for 2 1/2 minutes of showering. You can also hop over to the hot springs state park for a free soak in the bathhouse and free shower afterward!
The amenities themselves aren’t anything to write home about—laundry is fine, toilets are not amazing, nor are the showers—but everything works and there’s hot water!
Close to the road and a railroad so you can hear sounds of traffic, but it’s not crazy disruptive. Nothing earplugs can’t solve.
No Verizon or ATT service at the site.
Ultimately, I think the hot spring pools and location are well worth the $$ and loved my stay.
Overall, great RV park.
The negatives:
Spaces are a bit tight—with sewer running into your neighbors sites. Sewer is placed poorly (uphill and far away from sewer tanks) with water and sewer lines running over each other.
Only one shower house, a bit uphill and far from sites. Only cold to mildly warm water in the women’s shower (which is too cold in CO.)
Site not level
Positives:
Full hookups!
Location is minutes from the Rockies, with many views of peaks. Lots of wildlife close by—it will be surprising if you don’t see elk staying here.
Staff really communicative, friendly and helpful.
WiFi was pretty consistent
ATT & Verizon phone service
Despite cold shower water, bathrooms are very nice.
Utilized laundry (office has quarters, if needed.) and it worked well.
Overall, a great stay—I would highly recommend. We decided the day we were supposed to leave that we wanted to extend our stay and the office was really gracious and helpful.
We rented a room for my husbands birthday and parked our camper trailer in the front parking lot (25ft).
We rented a room with a large tub and it was far too pricy for what we got in return. Tub was filled with animal poo and old hair. We asked management to clean it from former guests and they were initially hesitant about it—saying maybe they would clean it ?!
Plumbers were there for multiple hours both days, parked directly in front of our room yelling back and forth which was very frustrating. Staff also didn’t seem to know which rooms were rented as they stood directly in front of our window to hold conversations. It was a huge bummer.
No dishes available unless requested from front desk. Bathroom worked well, WiFi worked well—no Verizon or ATT cell service. Good location. Broken “fireplace” and lamps.
Camping platform sites, car / van camping in front lot (but small area would not recommend anything over 25 feet.)
Truly far too expensive for the experience. Pretty bummed.
The park was located very close to Garden of the Gods and about 45 minutes from Pikes Peak. Location was great. (Liquor store and dispensary right next door if either of those are your kind of thing.)
Nice and clean bathrooms with at least 4 bathroom stalls and 3 showers—also a good laundry facility with dryers that actually dry. (See videos of both.)
We have a 25’ travel trailer and their creekside spots for that sized trailer we’re incredibly tight. I’ve posted a few pictures and videos to demonstrate…. But your water, sewer, and electric are in your neighbor’s space. Our neighbors had slides and the spots were so tight that the slides were actually on our concrete patio. This was unfortunate as we do a lot of yoga and stretching outside and the neighbors were constantly in and out of their slides for storage, and smokers.
There was no room for our truck at our spots, but there was overflow parking behind the creek. Staff was a little overly involved but very nice.
I really disliked the lack of privacy and tight space. Site not totally level. WiFi didn’t work 75% of the time and service for Verizon wasn’t great—but it was good otherwise. I liked being creekside and with such a central location.
This is been one of my least favorite spots to stay thus far. This park has no bathrooms, no laundry, no fire pits… Nothing but a picnic table. It is fully gravel, sites weren’t level, and very loud early mornings with all of the ATV activity. I think it is far too expensive for the stay. The staff is nice, and it’s family owned—but everything else, including the location pretty much sucked. I really think it’s worth it to find another park around the area to stay.
We had full hook ups. WiFi didn’t work and no Phone service.
Good location, excellent WiFi, good staff! Full hookups and trees/ shade. Lots of options to stay—cabins, RVs, etc.
After having traveled to many RV parks over the past few months there were some things I really disliked. People were walking through our site constantly and in droves.. between our rig and tow vehicle, in front of our RV door, behind our rv with all our hookups and equipment. I hated the lack of privacy and the fear that folks would step on our hooks ups, etc. even when I was outside stretching and doing yoga, folks piled on through, it was uncomfortable and a very weird culture. We kept asking folks to walk around, but it literally happened every few minutes with adults, children, groups.. we eventually gave up. That weird taboo-ish rv culture continued in many aspects throughout our stay.
The bathrooms had two shower stalls and showers for each sex—nothing for non-binary folks. This did not meet the needs of the entire camp ground—and they were closed as the office was closed (all night into the morning). Bathrooms are not ADA accessible nor for anyone who struggles with stairs.
We used laundry facilities which were nice and refilled on propane. Both easy processes!
Each site had a fire ring, picnic table and concrete slab. No Verizon service at all.
A gorgeous nearby hike, see videos!
My husband and I were skeptical to stay at such an uber patriotic site on stolen land, (we are NOT AT ALL the target audience) but it exceed expectations at every turn. Truly a 10/10 experience from staff, to sites to amenities.
We only stayed the night, but there was so much to take advantage I was almost disappointed we didn’t stay longer.
Huge pool, large chess game, community dinners (no vegetarian/ vegan options) ice cream socials, camp store, etc.
Nice bathrooms, didn’t use laundry. WiFi and ATT& Verizon worked at site. Gravel sites needed leveling with full hook ups. Picnic table came with site.
