We tent camped with 8 small kiddos. One if the largest tent sites I’ve been on. There is a small playground, and a pond for swimming and fishing. This campground gets stars from me for the gorgeous and peaceful surroundings, as well as very friendly staff. However, their two flushing toilets and two showers (free) are very outdated with some rusty nails sticking out, and we didn’t see anyone clean anything in the bathrooms for the few days that we were there (which meant a very full garbage and lots of dead bugs everywhere). Ice was an affordable $2 per bag, but bring your own firewood… it was $10 for a few pieces of fallen branches which did not even fit in the firepit. Near the campground is an awesome playground (Lincoln Township Park), as well as an adorable family owned Ice Cream shop (Sycamore Drive-In).
This was an awesome camping experience with our four kids. Small, fully stocked store with all the necessities. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. The campground is clean, but very small spaces for each site. Water and electric are available. The grounds are very peaceful. Bathrooms are close and include showers - clean but worn/outdated showers. Small playground, a beach for swimming is close but not on the campground.
The campground is very crowded and disorganized. The “pond” to swim in is dyed a very bright fake green color… not a healthy looking place to swim. The bathrooms are very outdated and they charge extra for showering, which is far from all the camping sites. Along one edge of campsites there is a huge cliff-sized drop off, so be cautious if camping with children. The staff is also not very friendly. One star because their campsites have water and electric. This is not a place I will go camping again.
Stayed two nights with four kiddos (ages 4-13) and had a great time. Nice, clean, and private campsites tucked into trees. We stayed in the Modern Campground and had water (non drinking) and electric at our site. There was a very nice playground for the kids to hang out at, as well as a nice bathroom with flushing toilets and showers for free. On the same property are fishing spots, hiking paths, biking paths and a GIANT playground. The swimming pond was closed due to Covid, so we drove about 30mins to get to Square Lake Beach to go swimming. Would stay again for sure. Mosquitos were KILLER as soon as it got dark, no matter how much bug spray you use!
This was a great campground. VERY clean, nice bathrooms with showers. Ice and Wood easily available. We stayed with four kiddos in a tent spot across from a cool plash pad, a little lake to fish in and close to running water. Only reason this campground doesn’t get five stars is because of noisy trucks/highway noise, and a freight train which drives often at night. There is also a farm near the tenting spots with a rooster. Not the best place for sleeping, but would totally go back!
