Coleman Lake is in the Talladega National Forest and very remote. There is no cell phone service at all. We have been camping here all my life. It is one of my favorite campgrounds. Sites are first come, first serve, water and electric. There is a campground host on duty. A campground for equestrians is near the main campground. The Pinhoti Trail that extends from south Alabama to north Georgia goes right beside the lake and is a great section hike.
Nice, quiet campground. Great views of the lake from most sites. We have been camping here for years. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! Just wish the Corps would keep it open all year long.
Nice, quiet campground. Wonderful lake views from most of the sites. We love camping at Amity. It is currently only open from April to Labor Day. We would love it even more if the Corps of Engineers would keep it open all year long. The Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail goes thru the park which is a great hike. Lots of wildlife to see. We spent 14 days there this summer. It was wonderful.
