The campground is no longer open to camping but you can still go down and hike and picnic. There are no staff and the bathrooms aren't open but it's a beautiful place. I have been going since I was really little. It also has an overlook that is gorgeous. It also has a creek that's nice to play in or kayak down when the water is high enough
It's a really great campground, the sites are nice and so are the cabins. It's very close to town and really close to Walmart, for those that prefer to be close to civilization. It's a great way to go to the beach and not spend a lot of money on accommodations.
IIt is a really great campground. The sites are shady and spread out a little. It also offers cabin and chalet rentals that are great if you want to get away but still have the comforts of home. They have great hiking trails and they even have a trail with a board walk. The park also has a playground and a pool. It's also home to Desoto falls and beautiful flora.
The campground is right on the banks of Lake Guntersville and it has a beach area so it's great if you want to play in the water. It doesn't have as much shade as it used to due to tornados but it is still a really great campground. There are a lot of great hiking, biking, and horse-riding trails. On anygiven day you can drive through the park and see an abundance of deer. The state park is also home to a zip line and an excellent golf course and the lodge has a pool and a really great restaurant.
