We spent five nights here. We texted ahead to check in and the campground owner met us at the gate with instructions and directions to the gate. Sites were nice and level, we stayed at the western edge and only had neighbors to the sides of us. Campground was clean and serviced. You noticed the extra precautions that were being taken due to CoVid. Bathrooms and showers may be some of the cleanest campground showers I’ve ever seen. Quiet hours beginning at 11 are strictly enforced. Playground and pool are well maintained. My kids spent lots of time at the pond catching fish. The only bad I can say is we had a trailer problem and I couldn’t find anyone interested in assisting. Ended up having a family member driving five hours from home with tools and fixed it myself in the campground. Definitely would recommend this campground
I’ve been to this campground at least 7 times for a motorcycle rally. The owner is super accommodating to the group. Seems to be mostly seasonal campers. At the end of the rally weekend the bathrooms are a bit overwhelmed due to the group size but I’d guess under normal circumstances they’re are fine. Restrooms could be a bit cleaner but again it may be due to the large size of the group. I’ve only tent camper here, I prefer to be in the wooded section towards the lake. There is a large field to accommodate campers, I don’t think there are any hook ups for the over night spots. There is a fishing pond and swimming area but I’ve never used them. I have also heard that this campground is closed for the entire 2020 season due to CoVid 19
It was the first time out for my family in our newly acquired camper. Campground is right on the Elroy Sparta bike trail which has three old tunnels to go though. The trail is washed out shortly to the north of the campground but at check in they let us know and told us what they thought was the best way to address the issue. We needed up driving past the wash and rode to the largest tunnel. You can also leave the campground and go south about 1.5 miles and get to a tunnel. The pool opened the day we got there and my kids enjoyed it although it was definitely to cold for me. Frogs pulled us to sleep the first night but disappeared the second. Our site was pretty level and located near a creek which runs though the middle of the campground. My kids enjoyed playing in that. There’s a mini golf course which may have seen better days but is still playable and an older wooden play set. Water and electric I think are available at every site. Keep in mind water is well so a filter may be wanted. Campground and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. All the sites looked nice but the ones at the back seem to be more wooded/secluded. We definitely would visit again.
