Came here at the end of April beginning of May. Stayed at site 35. Temperatures were perfect not too hot not too cold. While the vegetation is very short it gives you 100% sunshine for your solar. Very little animal life or flowers but the vistas are nice. With no trees however it can get a bit windy at times.
I had 8-12 MB download and 12-15 upload speeds on my internet Verizon based.
Fun mountain bike trails through out the area.
While a bit close to Hwy 15 it works for a rest stop or overnight. Nothing here. No amenities. We didn’t venture further down the dirt road. Have 2 bars Verizon. Found a flat spot to park. Enough spaces for a couple of rigs but other spots might not be as flat.
Long day on the road. LA to owens river rd. Took 7 hrs so finding this spot is great for a night. Dirt roads are narrow for an 8 foot wide RV but doable. Only 2bars for Verizon. It’s slow but can still text and call.
Perfect location. Easy to get to from the Los Angeles basin right off of Hwy 38 makes for an easy drive. Camp ground was very clean. Bathrooms were not open during our stay but it did not matter to us with our RV and composting toilet. Camp hosts were super nice! I was able to get full bars of Verizon no problem. Easy to park our 26.5 foot Lazy Daze. Camp spot was pretty flat but ended up with a few blocks just to level us better.
Great hiking and cycling nearby. Cold mornings but perfect temperature during the day. Hiking to Jenks lake and Santa Ana River were very nice. Deer, blue jays, lizards, squirrels, reported bear sightings but we did not see any bears.
