We really enjoy this campground and use it as a home base when we’re back visiting family. There’s a couple of parks onsite for kids- one with a zip line swing- plus a pond for fishing, areas to hike and bike. There’s also a historic village onsite that’s open for tours on weekends during the summer. Plus, it’s on the outskirts of town so restaurants and grocery stores are nearby.
The sites are somewhat unlevel so you’ll likely need to block up tires (we’ve had to block one side of tires on two different past sites). For our current site (site 58 with a 2.8 degree incline), we had to angle in a bit otherwise our auto leveling would throw an error since our front had to go up too high.
This is a beautiful COE park along the overflow of the lake. Cell service was terrible, but we loved the park. People were friendly and super helpful!
Internet was great, spots are clean, level, and almost all concrete. It is tight as our neighbors were very close, but to be a short walk across the Clintom bridge to downtown was worth it. Such a unique experience, we loved spending our Thanksgiving there.
This campground was a bit rustic as it is still developing, but the owner was fantastic, the hooks ups worked great, and we felt like we had our own piece of wilderness. Great hiking right up the road in the national forest, internet worked great for Verizon and ATT.
This was a super cool state park, great amenities, level and spacious RV spots. We loved it and will go back if we're in that area again.
Great space on our lot, WiFi for Verizon and ATT were great. Very accommodating staff, super friendly. Clean laundry facility. Would definitely visit again. Allowed to receive packages and wash my rv.
We will definitely return, we loved this park. The bridges of Madisin County, Clarke Tower, cute local ice cream shop, John Wayne Museum! So much fun in a cute Iowa community!
We enjoyed it here, but it snowed so we didn’t explore the trails while we were there. Our internet worked great through Verizon and ATT, we never tried the park WiFi. Clean laundry facilities, pull through site was a little tight, but worked well. If we’re in the KC area again, we’ll definitely stay there. Only drawback, the target audience is a bit older so no playground or park for kids, but plenty of open grassy areas worked too. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They do propane refill, which was awesome.
