Nickel n Dimer

Was $85 for a rustic, no electric, tent only site. Granted it WAS labor day weekend so ya know. Holiday rates. But even so. That was the cheapest method. Then there's a parking fee per day on top of your site fee that was also $6/day at the time. Great place to camp but not worth THAT MUCH just to pitch a tent for 2 nights.

Don't do it!

Neighbors right on top of you. Dirtbikes n 4 wheelers flying around causing dust n access noise. Premium Sites might be the way to go though.

Perfect Getaway

We reserved our site online. Having never been before we didnt really know what to expect. It was nothing less than perfect. Tucked away in a silent wooded area. Paved roads all the way in. 15 minutes from Munising. Was a perfect hideaway for us driving from SW michigan over memorial day weekend. Birdwatching trails for days and 4x4 trails surround.

Amazing!

That view over the canyon of the Beartooth Range though! Can't recall of it was $10 or $20 a night to stay but was money well spent! Small hike up the creek across the road to the calls is also undoubtedly worth the trip. Short drive from Cody, WY, Cooke City, WY, as well as the northeast gate of Yellowstone. Be sure to go to the top of the beartooths and go see "The Top of The World" Store.

Good Spot

Stones throw from Yellowstone's east gate. Relaxing river sounds glowing by. Lots to see and do in nearby Cody, WY. Clean campgrounds and bathrooms. Paved drive. Really well kept for being FREE! There is a trail following the river beyond the bridge at the back of the campground, somewhere on the trail we found a geocache! Fire pits and picnic tables at each site.

Dispersed! Free!

There are 3 or 4 sites at this location. One vault toilet services all of them. The site closest to the vault had the best stargazing view in my opinion. There is a picnic table and fire pit accomodating each site. A large open field is on site for activities (frisbee, playing catch, etc) but be careful of the large rocks. Exciting location as your just a quick drive down the mountain from Yellowstone National Park. Great for the avid "backcountry" camper.
