Excellent campground

This campground is accessible by a long dirt/gravel road, with drop offs on one side to the reservoir. Just be prepared for that and drive safely / don't be jn a hurry.

Beautiful location close to Boise, river is claiming and relaxing. A few places to walk around and explore. No reservations, first come first serve location.

Nice and Quiet

First off - you will need a higher clearance vehicle to reach this campground, and signage may be limited so make sure you know your step by step directions beforehand. The road is basically a forest service road with ruts and high bumps. Our group made it in a Nissan rouge and a Rav 4, but it was pushing it a bit.

Once you are there it's amazing! Way better than Jubilee lake! Jubilee lake is crowded and you camp right on top of your neighbors. Here there's lots of room between you and your neighboring campsite - if you even have neighbors, we were the only ones there.

It's super quiet, very shaded, a really ideal campground. If you are looking to hike, it's a good spot, with access to a few trails. There's a pit toilet, and a freshwater spring.

Great place for astrophotographers when conditions are right!

Beautiful location

Beautiful campground and location! The campground is big and has lots of room. Campsites have plenty of room however and you don't feel like you are right next to your neighbor. You can buy wheelbarrows of firewood from the camp hosts, but only for a short time in the evening so don't miss it! There is so much to do there from hiking, renting a boat, and taking the gondola/tram up the mountain.

Great camping spot outside Boise

Awesome place to get away for a few nights. Campsites in the middle have plenty of space, outer circle spots might have a bit less room, especially if by the river. Highway noise isn't bad. Hot springs are accessible via a short trail, some of the pools are harder to get to so use caution. Nice place to stay if you are on the fence for choosing this location.

Nice place

Amazing camp spots if you can reserve one on the lower loop water side, you'll have a campground looking directly out towards the water. Campsite had plenty of room, toilets and water close by. Boat docks for water access down a steep trail, and several short hikes. Come to enjoy the view and relax.
