Washington Beach state park camping

Very clean state park by the beach near Westport. Walking access to the beach. Clean restrooms and warm showers available. Sites are very tight and close to each other so privacy is at a minimum.

In the trees by the sea

We stayed in the part of the park closest to the sea. No hookups here. Pretty sites, not much privacy. Clean campground and bathrooms. Lovely Paths through woods, dunes, and beach. About 10 minutes to charming fishing village with great seafood.

Crowded by close to the beach

This State Park is very crowded due to sites being so close together, however you do have excellent access to the beach and Westport. Cell reception is very good 5G with 5 bars

Reserve early to be far from highway noise

Campsites are a bit small and a few of the sites are next to the highway divided by some trees and brush. Road noise was very noisy at night. Good luck getting a full night's sleep. Be sure to get sites far from highway. The pluses, great access to the beach, clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and close to Westport.

Sweater weather camping

We loved camping here during the summer! It was cloudy and the air was crisp. Perfect getaway from the heat.

Sites are very close together with very little privacy. Hope you love being stacked up against your neighbors
Sites are also pretty small and narrow
Crowded campsite with lots of children
Great for family fun — ride bikes, go for mini hikes on the trails, head to the beach, go to the downtown area snd explore
Restrooms are clean and well maintained
Definitely do the Traveling Dunes Nature trail. It had a cute story to follow along the way!

Good beach access

This place is very close to the beach if you are in the west campground. The east section is separated by highway 105. The bathrooms and showers are excellent, though you need $1 bills to get tokens to use for the showers. The token machine takes $5’s but I can’t imagine needing that many tokens. One token for three minutes of water. The water was nice and hot. The camping spaces are tight together for the most part, but there are coastal pine trees in a lot of areas. Good for quick overnight or a couple of nights. I’ve been here 2 nights and may skip my third.

PNW gem

Getting here was a breeze. Sites are nicely laid out. Very quiet although our water hook up was just within reach with a 25' hose (RV back in site # 23). Most sites look like water access was closer. We will be back!

First camping experience ever!

Decided to take my pups camping, invested in a ton of gear and chose Twin Harbors based on the short distance to the beach as well as crabbing in Westport. It was great, the bathrooms were clean, staff incredibly friendly! The east side camp sites were reservable and private with trees around each site, and the West side first come first serve but closer to the beach. I had reserved on the east side but ended up moving to the West side since my pups love the water. There's a fire pit in each site and picnic table. Just overall great experience

Large camp near the surf

One of the few places we were able to walk-in late in afternoon and find a great spot. Friendly staff helped us pick a quiet spot perfect for us and the pups. Clean facilities and grounds. Potable water. Token showers. Quiet hours were enforced. It is a large park with a lot of spots but nearly as cramped as some of the other state parks in Oregon. We loved our stay and would definitely go back next time we’re in the area. We stayed in a site without utilities so maybe those bad reviews were from people who were looking more for a glamping experience. For us dirtbaggers...it was perfect considering we normally try to avoid large parks if we can help it. Make sure to check out the fun learning/kiosk trail that explains the sand dunes and ends at a great view of the ocean.

Bring Ways to Relax

As a tenter, I have less to complain about : ) I also walk around a lot and wear ear buds at night so no one can bother me. The crowds might get a little unnerving here in a time of COVID, but everyone's doing the right thing by getting outdoors. I think you can have a much better time if you avoid Fridays and Saturdays.

Won't be back

Stayed here over the weekend in our tent trailer in site 19. My bed was 7ft away from a large group of peoples camp chairs in the site behind us. Power water and sewer hookups are so far away from eachother I had to buy another water hose in town. Site didn't have a fireplace just an elevated chsrcoal grill box which sucked because I brought alot of firewood. Westport was fun and the beach was amazing. For some reason every time we pulled into the campground literally every single person would stop what they're doing and watch us for some reason. Literally every person. Weird place. Edit to add the pad was extremely unlevel as well

Busy place

We camped here for our honeymoon party. Brought a ton of friends and partied there. I cannot say that we were model citizens, but then again there were plenty of little boys climbing the trees to see into our camp after we put up tarps for privacy screens. This place has some greenery to make privacy between spaces, but it is always busy when we were there. There’s ice cream vendors and firewood trucks that come through the park, so it is not exactly an escape from civilization at all. Really close to all Westport can offer.

Nice park next to the beach

Very nice tent portion of the campground, short walk to the beach, beach is very long and uncrowded, although they allow driving on it.

RV spots with hookups are lined up next to each other, very little space between.

Nice to have full hookups but we opted for a tent spot with our camper.

Better for tents

We took the family to Twin Harbors during Westport’s Pirate festival. The festival was fun, the RV campground was not awesome though. First, it’s pretty tightly packed in. Even sitting at your picnic table feels like you’re intruding in your neighbors. Some folks had an RV or trailer and a tent and there was literally zero other space, it was hard to tel where one site ended and the other began. Fire pits are elevated grills at many sites, which I’m not a fan of. Additionally, we had to run to town because the water and power hookups are ridiculously far away from where they sit on anyone’s trailer or RV. And you have to cross a highway to get to the beach. Tents, though: sites looked better, bigger, more divided. Also they’re on the other side of the highway so beach access is easier. We decided that if we do return we’ll dry camp in our little trailer at the tent sites and feel Better about our trip.

Nice secluded campsites

These sites are nice and secluded. Most are like little wooded coves. The tent sites were small, but good for a 4-6 persom tent. The restrooms are clean and have showers. The city of Westport was charming and not a far drive.

Beach fun within walk

This is the spot to camp if your heading to westport, wa. The A side, sites 192-299 are the best for summer camping but in the late fall and winter this side can get flooded out and it is often closed. There are trails that lead thru the woods out to the beach and for the less adventurous you can follow a paved road just to the north. There is a winery/restaurant within walking distance that was recently rebuilt. There is a gas station just down the road for the few things you forgot and right beside the gas station is a great help yourself firewood seller with very reasonable prices for the area.

The A side has two bathroom buildings with showers that are coin operated but you have to get coins at the ranger station at the main entrance on B side. Make sure you pick up a few to save a walk. You can also rent cabins or yurts on the A side.

The B side offers better RV access with hookups and a dump site. The tent sites on the B side are slightly more closed in with a cozy woodsy feel.

Bring the bug spray, the mosquitos can get rampant during the wetter times since there is often standing water thru the bogs and marsh nearby.

Down the road is the cute town of westport where you can catch your own fish or buy fresh caught right off the docks. If you missed Brady's oyster farm on the way in you can pick up some at Merinos along with a great selection of seasonal local caught fish.

Clean, family friendly beach camping

We took our small children to Twin Harbors and found it to be a nice escape from the heat. It was nice to see the park rangers continuously coming through picking up trash and checking in on campers if needed. Quiet campground which was a relief after reading other reviews. Clean bathrooms and well stocked considering the campground was full. A nice walk to the beach where we were able to collect lots of sand dollars. The camp is just a short drive from Westport, a cute charter town. When we arrived the check in hostess was extremely friendly and made the start of our experience a memorable one.

Pet Friendly Yurt

Pros: Close to the ocean so you can hear the waves at night while you fall asleep, lots of clean bathrooms with lots of showers, close to downtown Westport where you can fish and crab off the dock Cons: Campsites are very close together, not much privacy (I could hear neighbors having conversations through the yurt walls)

Space and beach access

Great choice for camping/surfing/hiking out on the coast if your looking for a little more than the dispersed camping on Forest Service land or NP camps. There’s tons of space here and clean facilities. Try to stay in the west campground as it’s an easy walk to the beach where you don’t have to cross the highway. Best of all in Bog Water brewery and pizza across the street is an easy walk and crawl back to your tent!

Very tight fit

This Campsite has very small areas that are cramped really close together. You're a pretty good hike away from the beach if you're on the East Side. However there are a lot of families that camp here. So if you have children there will be a lot of new friends to make

Busy, but nice

we tent camped at site 299 in mid-May. the campground was pretty full, but site 299 was the most secluded, so we got the most solitude here. this site was also one of the biggest, and close to the restroom. the only downside to 299 is the fact that its up against the highway, so you get some road noise; but i would say its not as loud as the campground noise in the rest of the park. the mosquitos were pretty bad, and werent deterred by our “froo froo” spray, so do yourself a favor and take deet.

Twin Harbors WA - Beautiful

This was one of my favourite camp sites on the whole trip. There was a dedicated area for cyclists which just so happened to be right next to the beach. There were a few of us that night so we were close together over a couple of sites but that was fine by us.

What mattered was that we could hear the ocean as it was a couple minutes walk from the beach.

The general facilities were good - shower block, toilets, running water, and it was quite a busy time of the year but it was family friendly and respectful

Gorgeous beach! Holy screaming kids AAAHHHH!

We wanted a relaxing pre-Labor Day get away so we booked a tent campsite for the weekend at Twin Harbors. The campground was well kept and the restrooms/showers were nice and clean. The rangers emphasized no off-leash when we checked-in so we did not encounter dogs free roaming around the campsite, but it was an off-leash free for all at the beach. We unfortunately were surrounded by people with small children that ran around the campground climbing and shaking the trees, riding and falling off their bikes/scooters, screaming and crying a whole bunch for what seemed like no reason --- you know, doing what kids do. The campsites are stacked right on top of each other so there is zero buffer zone between you and your neighbors. So much for quiet, relaxing getaway. Luckily, the well maintained trails and the gorgeous empty long stretch of beach made up for all the chaos at the campground. Wake up early and you'll have the beach all to yourself! Also, bring dollar bills for the shower token machine. It does not take coins.

Jamping

First off we camped here for my cousin, hence the title. The campground is very clean with showers and bathrooms. We did find issues with a few dogs off their leashes but most were leashed. The camp sites are stacked right on top of one another so your neighbors will be a part of EVERYTHING! The little walking trails were my favorite part and completely empty during our visit. This is not my style of camping. The beach was down a short trail and was gorgeous. I shall go crawl back under my dispersed rock now...

Annual Family Trip

My family has been staying here every year for the last 10 years or so. There are two parts to the campground and we always stay on the side closest to the ocean. It can be a little breezy and damp as goes beach camping. Some of the spots are very close together and for some reason other campers get confused and have often walked right through my campsite. Dogs are allowed so there will be many. The bathrooms are pretty cleaned, stocked and there are even individual showers. Westport is a short drive and gives additional entertainment options and there is a grocery store for anything you may need or have forgotten. Sunsets are beautiful here!
