Great family park

Took my daughter and her cousins camping here so they can experience the outdoors. They enjoyed the somewhat quiet area. It can get a little crowded on the weekends.

Site #54 Ocean City State Park

Park was great. Site #54 was a great location but it is a SHARED SITE aka you and site #53 are sharing one site. But you're pretty secluded from the rest of the campground. Loop 2 has okay bathrooms but one sink per 3 stalls or whatever. Loop 1 has individual family bathrooms and shower stalls but it's constantly packed. So plan accordingly. Quite the walk to the beach is long but so worth it. Overall a great stay! Will be back.

Nice and near beach

Arrived early on a Friday in October and pick of several gull hookup sites in loop 4. Sites on inside of loop are close but plenty of room for large rv. Easy access to beach.

Great experience

The reservation system seems out of date. Generously sized comfortable spots. Private clean showers for only a few bucks. Clean restrooms. Trails to the beach. Overall fellow campers were really great and respectful of quiet hours.

Large campground with access to the beach!

Found a nice grassy site away from others on the loop 3. Our site was a few places away from the bathroom. Further down the road was the access to the beach. It was quiet and you can hear the beach!

Close sites, no privacy, not for off season

This place is ok. It’s pricey for off season: $35 for full hookups and $20 for dry. They also charge $5 for dumping so we skipped that and went to one of the numerous free, nicer dump sites on the way home. All water was on, which was nice. Our dry site (132) was right next to a water spigot so that was convenient. The walk to the beach is nice if it isn’t flooded. The first day we were there, part of it was flooded but we were able to get around it. It rained that night and I doubt it would be passable again. This means you should have a car to get to a beach during the off season if you come here. The path just isn’t reliable. There wasn’t a ton of flooding in the sites while we were there but if this rain keeps up, I think most of loop 4 will be pretty unusable, especially the full hookup sites. Not a terrible stay, but not great.

Beautiful spot on the coast!

We're dry camping in a site w/o hookups (we have solar). The bathrooms are clean, staff is friendly, grounds are well kept. We have a 33' fifth wheel, and we think the area with full utilities would've been tight for us.

There's a parking area at the head of the trail to the beach. We're near the registration building up front, and it's a nice walk to he trailhead. Big, beautiful trees, peaceful setting, close to Ocean Shores & a casino.

It’s okay

I paid $45 for one night at a standard spot with no water. The only good thing were the showers, they were hot, mostly clean. Otherwise I feel like this campground is overpriced for what you get. Which is basically a spot to park. You have to pay for showers.

Spontaneous Adventure

We were at my parents’ timeshare and weren’t ready to go home yet, so we decided to go camping first. We scored a walk up spot for Thursday-Sunday and had a blast. We had the absolute worst camp spot I have ever seen, but like, we didn’t have to plan, so it is what it is. There are about 3 million more mosquitoes than people. The bathrooms are about what you can expect. They said the bathroom in loop 1 is better that the one we visited in loop 3, but if you’re in a campground, how good can the bathroom really be? Starting a fire is beyond challenging with the humidity and our site had no windbreak. On Sunday, my car wouldn’t start and the camp host, Kevin, promptly came and saved my life.

Bring Mosquito Repellent

We camp near Ocean Shores almost yearly and have been at this State Park multiple times. Sites are large but very little privacy and it’s hard to beat the awesome proximity to the beach. However, every time we camp whether it’s April, the middle of summer or Fall, the mosquitos are always present. This time they didn’t seem to but super aggressive but they were certainly an impressive size.

Wish I could have seen the ocean at Ocean City

Campground was kind of a mess. Downed trees and flooded sites. The trails to the beach were also a mess and we gave up rather than muck our way through knee high water. I guess this is a summer visit only!

Good size sites full hook ups

Liked how big the sites are, not all have full hook up but most do and good distance from other sites. Trees surround most sites and deer wander through unattended sites. A few were flooded last weekend but we still managed a fire in the provide ring between storms. I will return here often.

Walking distance to beach

Very close to the beach but wind protected sites with lots of trees and bushes. Most sites have privacy. Showers are coin operated but work well.

Awesome stay!

Serene winding trails to the breathtaking beach. Beautiful sites… But… Wish there were more with hookups. It was quite a ways to get water… Despite the online note saying Pad Maneuverability is “good”, our site required a very sharp back-in turn, with a “wrong way” sign strategically placed right in the way, just to make it extra special. People are so friendly: the Teardrop Rally gang were watching me struggling to back the trailer into place (for the first time I might add!) and cheering me on, and then gave me a STANDING O when I finally got that sucker parked! I took a bow! Hey Teardrop Rally folks: Thanks so much for the encouragement! Can we be honorary members? We’d like to hang with you super cool and awesome Peeps!…

Nice, Clean and Quiet

Large Campground near beach

Ocean City State Park, has several campsite loops. It is located just off of the beach with easy access. Loop one has a nice field in the middle which is good for groups that want to camp near each other.

Our kids favorite campground

Our kids & dogs love this campground because of easy access to the beach. Great place to play boogie boards, skimboards, just playing in the waves, kites flying, building sand castles or just laying on the sand.

Every time we goes there it always show as it'll rain, but we usually get at least 1 day of great sun and when it's sunny, it's the best place to be.

This is one of the State Park that does not have the list of long rules. The park rangers are usually friendly and not too strict and your tent does not have to be on the pad.

Loop 3 & Loop 4 have closer access to the beach and better sites.

Usually clean facilities and showers. Each loop has 1 shower within the men and women bathrooms.

Cons:

When it's raining for more than a day, lots of sites can be muddy and swampy especially in loop 2.

Ocean is always cold no matter what time of the year.

Like the beach?

If an ideal camping trip is one with your tent pitched in a wooded setting, but you love to spend time on the beach, this state park is for you. Only reason for not giving five stars is the lack of hiking trails and they really need to update their bathroom facilities. One other thing to mention is that since this is a state park it is sadly underfunded and with that said, understaffed. Make sure you can get a reservation before coming in or you can wind up getting a spot for one night but have to move to another the next day. I saw this happen to two different people. The main issue was the park is woefully understaffed and the park office isn't open long enough to service everyone's needs. But, nicely laid out campground, very short walk to the beach, wildlife is pretty abundant.

Nice big campground with lots to do nearby

This campground is one of the larger ones we've stayed at with 4 loops there. We've stayed in loop 1 two years in a row. That loop has a nicer restroom facility with showers in it. Not all loops even have flushing toilets. There is nice beach access from the campground. And lots of things to do in nearby Ocean Shores. There is shopping, dining, go carts and other beaches within about a 10-15 minute drive.

Beautiful location

Great place to stay for a beach trip. There are camper sites and tent. The actual camp ground is about 20min walk through the forest from the beach. The tent sites are cut out of the forest and under brush and are fairly private. The camp ground has token operated showers, so make sure to bring some cash to change to tokens. change is not accepted.

Popular Ocean Camground

Though this campground was very popular with all types of campers, including large RV's, we just didn't understand the draw. It seemed less maintained and overgrown, with long trails to beach, than our favorite oceanfront campgrounds. (See my other reviews). Large campground with over 150 sites. Very hard to tell when looking at map or reservation site, what the site is really like. This campground had all types of sites, from dark and woodsy, to bright and sunny. Worth a drive through before deciding on a site.
