Valley View Farm

Description

Valley View Farm is no longer accepting bookings at this time

Located in the local coastal plane of San Luis Obispo, CA. The farm is mountainous and is divided in half with the higher mountainous part for running cattle and the lower portion used for farming 200 different crops organically. They are ancient grains, beans and peas, herbs and spices. You can pick up your pumpkins and Christmas trees less than a mile to the east of Brookshire Farms.

We also have a small barn located at the front of the property with our organically grown products for sale. We sell most of what we grow here on the farm such as peas, lentils, beans and all of our ancient grains, along with the flours from them.. both with and without gluten.

**We go by honesty so there is a cash box located in the barn as well as our Venmo code you can pick what you’d like, check the price sheet and pay accordingly! (All grains, peas & lentils are $10 and flours are $13.) When you pull into the property it will be located to the right, it is a small grayish colored barn shed, about 6x6 big, and there you are welcome to shop. We appreciate all the support!

We offer 5 camping sites! We ask that you stay in the spot you have booked and your vehicle must stay in the your site. No off-road vehicles permitted on property, thank you for your understanding. We are located within about 7 miles from Montana De Oro (MDO) State Campground with 100s of miles of hiking trails of various difficulty which is right on the Pacific Ocean. You can also bike, surf, and hang out at the beach here. We are 9 miles to Morro Bay Beach. There are views from our higher elevation areas of the farm to view Morro Bay and Morro Rock with the water crashing on the breakwater visible to the naked eye.

Go to Embarcadero - lots of yummy food and drink, walk around the docks, watch the sea life. Head to Morro Rock, a historic landmark of a volcanic plug or go over to Morro Rock Beach for surfing, swimming, and lounging. We can also see all the way to Villa Creek Road on a clear day which is North of Cayucos and South of San Simeon home of Hearst Castle. Villa Creek Road is the sight of the only viable Abolone Farm in California. We are about 5 miles to the back bay of Los Osos which is called Baywood Park on the bay with restaurants from Pizza Parlors to high end dining.

There is also wine tasting right across the street from Ralph’s grocery store at Baker & Brain Winery on the weekends. Find centuries-old coast live oak groves, walking trails, no dogs allowed and watch out for poison oak! Finally, Elfin Forest is only 4 miles from the farm. There are beautiful groves of pygmy oak trees and is home to a diverse ecosystem of plants and animals, overlooking the salt marshes and mudflats.

Disappointed

We were really excited to have the experience of staying on a lush farm but this place is abandoned and not kept up. No plants just a big dirt field, and broken machines. Would not be writing a bad review if this was a cheap place to stay for the night but this is way to over priced for the owners to put absolute no effort into.

A Nice Dirt Spot to Park In

A beautiful farm. It was hard to find though and the camping was basically pulling off into a field. Overpriced for what it is. We stayed in camp #4 and it is right off the "road" with little to no cover and no level ground. There is no working firepit either. What they have is a brick-lined circle. We parked for the night and left early the next day.

Very beautiful! very private!

A little difficult to find at first but not too bad. Wish they had a little drawn map layout of the camp sites but other than that had a great stay! As you go down the dirt road site 4 you’ll see first as a small pull out on the left side between the road and the creek. Then sites 1a 1b and 2 are on a loop by the portapotty, and 3 up a steep rutted road on the top of the hill. Beautiful property with great views of the valley. A little windy at times but wonderful overall.

Perfect View and more

Perfectly simple place to visit the area. And support organic farmer. The only caution is that Los Osos Valley Road is busy. Don’t try to left turn across. If you are heading west there is a left turn lane a bit further on. The GetDirections from DYRT will not take you to the site. Read the location directions and watch for the green mail box.

Beautiful Organic Farm on the California Coast

Jake from The Dyrt here!  I had to opportunity to chat with some of the folks at this farm and I would encourage people to check out this scenic spot on their farm.  Make sure to leave a review and post some pictures of your stay!

Aw thank you Jake! We really appreciate you😊
