AWFUL EXPERIENCE, JUST AWFUL

We stayed 2 days in May 2022. It was a get away for my brother in law before his wedding day. There were 9 of us total. We rented 2 sites. We spent almost$1000 counting the 2 golf carts we rented. During check in, the staff seemed flustered but weren’t rude. They were disorganized and it took almost 30 minutes just to check in. We had a great time the first day. That evening we rode the golf carts around checking out the campground since it was our first time there. That’s when it went down hill. They have a curfew for bikes and golf carts, which I understand for safety reasons and noise issues for sleeping campers. The issue is the approach of the night staff telling people about the curfew. Instead of being polite, they snap at you and belittle you! Example almost word for word:“ Hey where are you going! Why are you driving the golf cart. Didn’t you read the rules??” How about some customer service and kindness for a first offense? The staff drives around golf carts after curfew policing the campground. I overheard our neighbors complain to other campers about the same issue we were having. The next day we decided to play horseshoes. We put a$20 deposit down on horseshoes which will be refunded to you after the return the the 4 horseshoes back to the camping store. You have 2 hours to play. During the first 30 minutes of playing horseshoes one of the horseshoes hit the metal picket/rod and breaks. I have never seen a horseshoe break. Keep in mind we were not playing the game incorrectly or rough housing. We were simply playing horse shoes. We immediately went back to the store to swap the horseshoe for another one. We were told by the staff that it was their only set and they had no more. They then said that the set was brand new and we were the first to use it. They also said they would be keeping the$20 because we broke the horseshoe. We politely asked to speak with the manager, Danielle, who was not in at that moment. We came back to speak with her 20 minutes later. When we walked into the store, her immediate response to us was“ We are keeping the 20 dollars.” Is that how you greet people?! No hello, welcome, or any other greeting?? She then got into an argument with one of the guys in our camping group who was not too happy about the situation and the way we were treated. In the end, we forfeit the$20. BY FAR, THE MOST RUDE CAMPGROUND STAFF I’VE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH IN THE 36 YEARS IVE BEEN CAMPING( I usually camp at least 20 times a season, 26 times last year). WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE, WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT, WHEN ASKED ABOUT IT, WE WILL TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT OUR AWFUL EXPERIENCE. YOU ARE JUST A DOLLAR FIGURE TO THIS PLACE. NOTHING MORE.. Such a shame.
