Water, Trails & Historical buildings what more could you want camping

We visited early this year before the mad summer rush and luckily the water was already turned on for park camping. We  had to go back the next week to see more of the things we did not have time for on the first visit. As the beach side has a lot of open camping we opted for the side nearer the trails that had a feeling of being a step away from the woods.

Our pup insisted on daily walks on the amazing trails in the woods, so of course we had to humor him. Being dragged along by a 140 lb dog did not leave us much time to visit the bunkers or enjoy the bluff water views that popped up as we walked or trotted along after Tobi dog. On the return trip we followed the beach looking up at the bluff and tried to imagine where we were in relation to the trail.

It can be windy but luckily did not experience this during our stay. The other advice would be if you want to check out some of the bunkers you might want a flashlight as they can be quite dark and have uneven surfaces according to our camp host.

Other than that enjoy the changes made during high and low tide and the great sunsets and wildlife.

Bathrooms were clean and the host was nice so it was an awesome visit and we are planning on returning
