The property has been in the Monge family since 1940 bought by Jose Monge Marquez. The campsite is located on a private property on the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest is the town of Luquillo. The campsite areas and facilities are about 15 out of 40 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees. The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, goes through the property. All the campsites are close to the river, each having its access and individual fire pits.
The local attractions areEl Yunque National Rainforest which is a 15-minute drive up the mountain, the Las Paylas rockslides (2-minute drive & 8 minutes walking), and the Luquillo beaches which are La Pared, Playa Azul, Balneario de Luquillo, Los Kioskos de Luquillo, etc. (10 minutes drive). You can indulge in hiking, wildlife viewing, and swimming at El Yunque National Rainforest or slide down the smooth popular rock slides at Las Paylas.
